"Are you actually serious?"
"Yes!"
"I can't believe you"
Levi and Eren were currently standing in front of a small stall, Eren's head adorned with a pure golden crown, a long purple cape flowing down from his shoulders as he looked at his husband. "Levi, it's a duster" Eren said exasperated, hearing the communal bustling of people walking to and fro from various shops and stalls in the long above ground street. Yes, they were in the Mask domain. The warm shone down on them on the sweet summer day.
Well, the previous Mask domain. Two months after the peace agreement the new Emperor commanded his people to strip themselves of the horrid cages on their faces. It took a while, but eventually everyone was free. People rejoiced the new feeling, some were still wary of the air and had cloths around their faces, but the general peace fell around the people of the above ground, and the below ground. Yet, even if the two kingdoms were united they still held their own rules and leaders.
"Exactly! Do you see the quality of this? It's pure feather!" Levi said fully entranced by the object in his hands. Eren rolled his eyes and kissed his head, "I love you" he mumbled with a small laugh, causing Levi to blush lightly. "I'm going to look around" Eren said and walked off. Levi looked after him, then back at the stall owner. Levi promptly bought the duster, then walked the opposite way. His eyes travelled over the old familiar buildings, frowning as he got a wave of DeJa Vu. He turned down an alley, becoming alert quickly on instinct. He noticed this was an older part of the city, buildings crumbling around themselves.
Levi started to explore, his eyes level, hand passing gently over the wall beside him as he walked. He turned corners, soon losing the sound of the loud street full of shops and people, and entering quiet alleys. Levi's silver crown shifted on his head, making him reach up to adjust it, and in turn giving himself a face full of feathers from the duster he held. He gasped and coughed, sneezing.
Through his coughing fit he was sure he heard a small whine and cry, when his eyes cleared more he looked over and saw some shuffling in the debris of an old building. It looked very familiar, which was why Levi walked over and looked down, assuming to find a hungry dog or cat.
Instead he yelped in shock, dropping his beloved duster and scrambling forward to the small grey figure, he noticed the building had collapsed as most older buildings had around this area. He saw a head of dirty black hair, causing him to run over and look at the struggling figure. "Hello?! Is someone there?"
"H-Help me" a voice squeaked, barely audible. Levi got to action quickly, grabbing the big rock that was pinning the barely visible figure and lifting it with a groan. He soon threw the rock off, causing the person to scream in fear and pain. Levi leaned down, "Hey hey it's okay I'm here" Levi said and looked at the girl carefully, gasping, "Hello?!" He yelled, the girl fluttered her eyes open slightly. The girl's chest bled as Levi reached down and picked her up. "huh?" she squeaked, Levi saw a shimmering necklace around her neck as he raced off, a mask still fitted tightly around her small face.
"Don't worry I'm here to help, I'll get you help soon don't worry" Levi explained quickly, holding her crying screaming self close to him. She was dying, where was the rest of her family? Levi could barely think, he finally got to the main street and he yelled for help. People raced over but Levi wouldn't let her go. She was losing her battle in his arms, and he kept talking to her. Asking her what her birthday was, or what her favorite color was, which she never answered. Levi's heart was racing, finally letting her go as medics raced over. They put her on a stretcher and hooked various things to her.
One of the medics turned to Levi, "Are you her fa-Sir!" he said when he saw the crown, bowing. "Shut up not now! How is she?!" Levi said frantically as he walked over to where the girl was being rushed to the nearest hospital.
