Levi's POV:
There was a silence, Linda looked up from her writing curiously
"What?" She wrote, Sindie walked over to me and looked at me in worry
I asked for the pencil, I was handed it and I quickly scribbled along the paper
'Eren, Eren Jeagerhe is our king. The rebel king I don't have time to explain just show me where he is!' I showed Sindie and Linda, Sindie put a hand over her mouth as Shannon walked up to her.
Sindie walked over to Linda, giving her the fluid in the small little bottle
"Linda hon you are getting weaker. I don't want you going out again...The sickness is spreading" she spoke normally, trying to keep her hands to stop shaking, "you know if you don't rest the cancer can get to your back..."
Oh
"But Mum! It's so fun! Please just once more tonight!" Linda said, not even wincing at the needle going into her arm
Sindie sighed, "alright but only if you come back early and don't go out tomorrow" Sindie said and looked at me, I nodded and stood up. Linda stood too and went to my side
I looked up at the mother, her eyes glaring at me with a wary trust that I would protect her daughter
She didn't know me, yet knew what I was fighting for. A Rebel.
I bowed to her, taking my bag from my back and sliding a set of necklaces from the bag.
Most likely from some heist that the Rebels went to steal from here
I slid them to her silently, a thank you for everything. Surely something that would pay the bills for a while
She looked at the necklaces as I turned away, leaning down I pulled the cloth over my nose that was around my neck
"Hello Linda. Show me" I whispered, she nodded and turned to the door
A little girl, fighting something like cancer. A horrible disease, something someone so young never deserved
Why wasn't she healed by ou-the Mask society's healers?
She ran out into the back alleys, I followed behind her closely. We dodged cameras, she knew this place like the back of her hand
Soon we were in close sight to the castle, we hid behind a building and looked around the corner
She pointed to a clearing outside the back entrance of the castle, long laundry lines hung there with a clean slate of concrete under them
She didn't say anything, merely showed me this place. I raised my eyebrow at her and she nodded her head
She pat the wall, then the sky
She wanted me to wait here till morning, to wait for something. She leaned down into the dirt
'He might be out tomorrow morning, he said his master had a party tonight'
I nodded and bowed to her, she gave me a thumbs up then raced back the way she came
I didn't see her or her family again that night, or the next day. I was waiting, seemingly in a blind spot of all the cameras as the sun sliced through the night and between the buildings
I looked towards it, watching it carefully. I didn't know how long I would wait here, but if it meant to see Eren again I would stay here till I starved
For the first person I have ever saved
The sun was orange today, shining brightly against the world. It seemed so hopeful, so peaceful again against the cruel world.
I stayed for three hours there without any sight of Eren, merely some other maids and guards marching back and forth. It seemed like a normal quiet morning
The only noise was my head, buzzing and ringing. I was slowly getting more and more anxious the longer I sat there alone, with no sign of friendly life at all
How do Rebels do this all the time? The pure stress of sitting silently, keeping your breath quiet to save your life was nerve shattering enough
My gaze snapped up when I heard the doors swing open, I saw a bright blue streak and I sighed disappointed
I looked at the tall person, they had a knee length blue dress on. She had short brown hair, her arms strangly thin, but muscular...
My eyes widened and slapped a hand over my face, my eyes starting to water
"Oh my gosh..."
Eren
It was him.
Eren Jeager, King of the Rebel's hanging laundry in a blue dress
If this was a different situation I would laugh
There were almost black rings under his eyes, his back starting to hunch and his arms were bony thin
A horribly tight frame over his mouth and nose
I wanted to call out, I wanted to snatch him and drag him to safety, I wanted to rip that horrible mask off his beautiful face and kiss him
Most of all, I wanted to give him food
How could I alert him I was here?
He picked up a shimmering gold outfit and hung it up on a line. He was shaking like a leaf
I swallowed down my fear and sadness, picking up a small pebble shakily and whipping it at him
I facepalmed when it smacked against the side of his head
I looked up to see his reaction, but to my horror...
He didn't react like anyone would, he simply looked down at the small grey projectile and then up and around blankly
His eyes travelled over the buildings, and stopped on me
His eyes widened and he took a step forward, I smiled widely and waved my hands for him to see me
Suddenly he rubbed his eyes, and turned away.
Turned away
"Eren..." I whispered desperately, wanting to run over to him but I was stopped when the doors opened again
Out walked a familiar beauty, Petra
Though, she didn't seem so beautiful anymore...
"Eren, Erwin will be hungover today so I suggest you help him today" Petra said, or at least what I heard from this distance
Eren bowed, if he said something he didn't say anything
He then abandoned the basket of laundry, running inside
With me loving from afar
I'm sorry if these chapters are moving too fast or slow, have a good day ^.^
