Chapter Thirteen
"It all started at a normal party. I had always had a small crush on Justin Blake, the most attractive and popular guy in school, but he had a girlfriend, so I knew nothing was going to happen between us.
"Soon enough, he was walking up to me. I smiled politely towards him, blushing a bit and he stopped right in front of me. I could tell he was a little drunk because he slurred his words as he said, 'Hey, Angel. I've been watching you from across the room and I can't help but notice how hot you are.' I proceeded to ask about his girlfriend. He said she wasn't around and we had nothing to worry about, but I still worried.
"He offered taking me to a room, but I declined, even though I really wanted to. Instead, we kissed a bit. Nothing serious. Then, he told me he loved me. It was really sudden and weird, but he said it. I told him he didn't mean it, but he just ignored me. From that night on, we talked a lot, just a little over text. We never really liked texting. It seemed kind of fake to us. I don't know why.
"We fought a lot, though. It wasn't fun, but we did. I mostly fought for Lexis. Then, in his last few days, I realized I loved him back, but I never told him. I wish I had, though." I explained.
Danny nods. "I get that."
"What an asshole," Adam snaps.
"What?" I ask, looking over at him, feeling the heat rise to my cheeks.
"He cheated on his girlfriend and said he loved you on a drunk night and deceived her. That's horrible. And then he just decides to take his life, leaving you to pick up the pieces." Adam rants.
"I don't get why you care so much," I sigh, looking back up at the stars.
"Because you're a pretty awesome girl who doesn't deserve anything like that. That's why," he snaps.
Tanya shrugs, "I think it's romantic. In, like, a forbidden love kind of way."
"Of course you would," Adam scoffs.
"What does that mean?!" Tanya yelps.
"Here we go again," Danny groans.
"I'm sorry I brought it up," I sigh, "Just please don't fight."
The two sigh and nod.
"Whatever," Tanya sighs.
I smile in accomplishment and decide to get lost among the stars.
