Forever and Always

Chapter 1

(Dani's POV)

"I still can't believe we're going to be able to see THE Demi Lovato," My best friend, Alyson, enthused and shook me as we stood in line to board the plane.

"I'm still on the fact that our parents were able to get first class tickets." I said and she nodded.

"Our moms' must have some stripper money left from the old days." Alyson said casually and I gaped at her.

"Ew, I don't like the image of my mom being a stipper, but thanks for it anyways," I shivered as I said it.

"I wish we could sit next to each other, though. But at least you're in front of me."

"I hope I'm not stuck with some perverted old guy. That happened over the summer."

"I just hope we don't end up losing the rest of the class when we get off the plane." Alyson looked back at our class who were all sitting, waiting for coach seats to be called. They all waved and I laughed when one of my closest guy friends, Kurt, winked and mouthed 'Food'.

"Pretty sure he has a crush on you," Alyson said as she handed the ticket lady our tickets.

"Yeah well, he knows I'm gay, the whole school does. I don't get why he doesn't get that."

"Because you got a damn fine ass," Alyson joked and winked at me. I laughed and we walked through the terminal. I started humming Here We Go Again while we stood in line, waiting for a lady to fold up her baby's stroller. Alyson smiled and we both started to sing the lyrics as we walked on the plane. We took our seats and as soon as I put my carry-on under the seat, I turned completely around in my seat and looked over it at Alyson.

"Do you think we'll get to meet her?" she asked and I rolled my eyes.

"I doubt it," I said at the same time my phone buzzed with a text. I got out my phone and read it.

"DON'T SCREAM,"  It was from Kurt. Alyson looked at her phone the same time I did.

"Same text, Aly?" I asked. She nodded. Alyson looked up and her eyes widened at something behind me. She covered her mouth with her hands and squeaked.

"What?" I asked, too scared to look back.

"This seat taken?" someone asked and I turned around, about to answer, but I completely froze up when I saw who it was.

"I take that face as a...no?" Demi Lovato chuckled and sat down.

"Excuse me, miss, I'm going to have to ask you to please sit right in your seat," A flight attendant told me and I snapped out of my trance. I sat down and it took everything for me not to stare at Demi.

My phone buzzed and I opened the new text Aly sent me. "YOU GET DEMI AND I GET MAX CAN WE PLEASE SWITCH"

I turned around and saw Demi's bodyguard, Max sitting in the once empty seat by Alyson. I laughed and shook my head at her.

Our class started to pass by and they all smiled at us, laughing at our expressions. I was trying not to cry and Alyson seemed to still be in shock.

"We're going to be sitting by each other for at least 3 hours so I might as well introduce myself. I'm-"

"Demi Lovato," I finished for her and chuckled. "Yeah, I'm kind of a fan."

"Kind of? Try, she has posters all over her room, a phone case with you, and Lovatic necklaces and bracelets." Alyson popped her head over my seat and smiled at Demi.

"Alyson!" I shoved her back and she came back up.

"Well, it's true! We bought them together." she said and Demi started to laugh. I swear I melted on the inside. Hearing Demi's amazing laugh in person is totally different than hearing it on TV.

"Aw you're blushing, that's so cute," Demi said and chuckled. "Don't be embarrassed, I'm completely flattered."

I smiled at her.

"So what's your name? I already caught Alyson's," Demi smiled at Aly and then looked back at me.

"It's Dani," I said and she stuck out her hand. I stared at it for a second, then shook it.

"It's nice to meet you Dani." Demi pulled her hand back and stared at me for a bit. "Where are y'all headed?" She finally asked and looked from me to Aly.

"California, we're going to Disneyland for a class trip. Our writing teacher wanted to do something fun with the seniors who have stayed in the class all 4 years since we all graduate this year." Alyson answered and Demi nodded.

"That sounds fun! We need to meet up there and hang out!" Demi said and I had to fight back the urge to pinch myself and see if I was dreaming. Demi Lovato wanted to hang out with me?

"That'd be great!" I said and she smiled at me.

The pilot announced that we'd be taking off soon so Alyson sat back in her seat and I shut my phone off and buckled.

"So, Dani," Demi said and I looked at her, "you're a senior. How is it so far?"

"It's great, I'm really sad it has to end. High school has been amazing, I've made so many friends and I'm going to miss them." I told her. "I'll still have Alyson with me though and she's really all I need."

"Aw, thanks babe, love ya," Aly said from behind me and I laughed.

Demi smiled. "What are you going to do after school? Are you staying home or leaving?"

"Leaving," I said without hesitation, "Alyson and I are going to stay with her cousin who lives in New York City. We're going right after graduation."

"That must be hard on your parents. Dallas is really far from New York City."

I bit my lip to keep from laughing. My parents didn't care. They're too busy shouting at each other to care about me. That's all they ever do now and it's my fault. My eyes teared up and I looked away out the window.

"Oh, hey hey, I didn't mean to make you cry, I'm sorry," Demi said and scooted closer. She rubbed my back and it, weirdly, actually made me feel better.

"No, it's not your fault, I'm sorry," I said and smiled at her. She looked genuinely concerned. "Look, we're taking off." I looked back out the window.

(Demi's POV)

"I can't believe you did that," I said as I laughed at Dani's story.

"I couldn't believe it either! We got kicked out of the store after that." Dani said and laughed.

"I didn't think anyone would dance on a table to my song!"

"Alyson dared me to."

"You're crazy, did you know that?" I shook my head and she laughed.

"Hey, Dani, want some Doritos? I bought a bunch of shit before we started bording." Alyson stood up and looked over the seat.

"No, I'm not hungry." Dani looked up at her.

"And I repeat, do you want a snack?" Aly said in a different tone.

Dani stared at her. There was something weird about their exchange.

"Fine," Dani said finally and Aly nodded and tossed a bag of chips down to her.

We continued talking as she ate until I decided to take a nap.
