Dani's POV
I am so excited and scared. It's finally the 21st and Demi was coming down. I'm picking her up, of course not inside, I'm just parked in the rental car Max had me get so she didn't recognize my car and waiting outside the airport. I tried to get Aly to come because I didn't know how I would face her alone but she said she'd feel like a third wheel and decided to meet us for lunch with Mason. I bobbed my knee up and down nervously. I decided I wasn't going to tell Demi about Liana. It was one drunk mistake and it meant absolutely nothing to me.
I looked at the clock. Demi's plane should've landed five minutes ago so she was probably here and waiting for baggage. A few minutes later and I saw someone dressed in all black with a hat on and a big pillow, followed by Max. I almost jumped out of the car and ran to her so I gripped the steering wheel to stop myself from ruining the surprise.
I opened the trunk and Max threw the luggage inside. He closed the trunk and stood out there, talking to Demi for a bit. Then he got into the car that was parked behind me and Demi opened the door and sat inside the passenger seat.
"Can we stop at-Dani?" Demi looked at me and her smile grew ten times bigger than I've ever seen it.
"Hello, I am your driver for today. Where would you like to stop first, Miss Lovato?" I said and she smiled.
"You're lips," Demi said and I turned to her. She reached over, cupped my face in her hands, and kissed me slowly. She pulled away and leaned foward until our foreheads touched. "Oh God, I've missed that." She whispered and I smiled.
She sat back in her seat and held my free hand in her lap.
"So where did you want to go? It's 10 and we're meeting Mason and Aly for lunch at 12."
"Well, I kind of want you to meet my family." Demi said and smiled sheeply.
"Say what now? Demi, I'm so not prepared for that!"
"Look, I know it's totally last minute but I really want you to meet them and they really want to meet you too! Dallas, Maddie, Mom, and Dad are all excited and they're actually expecting for you to stay for dinner tonight."
"I'm not even dressed to meet them."
"You look perfectly fine. Dani, please let's go. I will get on my knees and beg right now, please!"
I sighed. "Fine, where are we headed?"
"Thank you!" Demi squealed and wrapped her arms around my neck.
"I better be getting something good out of this," I muttered and she smiled.
"Oh, you will, babe," she kissed her way from my cheek, down my neck and lingered there.
"Don't get me all worked up before I go to meet you're family. 'Hey there Mr. and Mrs. De La Garza, I just got done having an intense make-out session in the car with your daughter, so sorry about the hair. How are you?' Yeah that would be the best first impression ever." Demi burst out laughing and I smiled. "That sounds so much better in person than on the phone."
"Let's go, babe. I'll tell you where to go," she grabbed my hand again and kissed it as I started driving.
Demi's POV
"It's this one right here."
"Jesus, Demi, this house is gorgeous." Dani said as she parked the car in the driveway behind Dallas's, my sister's, car and stared out the window.
It was a two-story, Mediterranean-style house with a big gorgeous lawn with bushes and flowers lining the front of the house. It was also decorated for Christmas with lights all over it, a little set up with baby Jesus in a manger, and a few light up reindeer here and there.
