Dani's POV

"I know you're not fine," Dad said to me. We were in his car and driving back home. "You cried for half the night. Don't act like everything is okay."

I didn't answer him and just stared out of the window. After Demi and I broke up, I took a cab to the hotel my friend's were staying at. I was planing on leaving today anyway so we had already bought my ticket. The thing that was bothering me was the fact that Demi was supposed to drive me to the airport and kiss me goodbye. She was supposed to hug me like her life depended on it. I was supposed to just barely make it on the plane on time because she kept pulling me back to give me a kisses.

"See, there are the tears again," He pointed out and I clenched my fist. "Can you tell me what happened? Did she cheat on you or something? Or did you?"

"Just leave it." I growled.

Dad sighed. "Alright, I'm done but when you want to talk, you can talk to me." He was quiet for a minute before adding, "Or you can talk to Sara."

"Who?"

"My fiance. She's moved into the house."

Talk about dropping a bomb. Not even just a bomb, that shit was nuclear.

"Your finace..." I said slowly as I turned to look at him, "moved into the house. The house that was just occupied by your wife who recently died. The wife you claim you loved, my mother."

He looked worried. I don't know if it was because he thought I was going to hit him or just flat out jump out of the moving car. At the moment, I felt like doing both.

"I did love your mother and I always will, she was the first woman I had ever loved. But sometimes people fall out of that love they had for someone without even realizing it happened, although feelings will always remain they just aren't as strong. I fell in love with Sara when I met her on a business trip years ago, I didn't mean to, it just happened. Then we had Gabriela-"

"Shut up," I snapped. "I don't want to fucking hear about it. I don't want to hear about the perfect little fucking baby. You know what, just don't say another word."

He opened his mouth for a second but I held my hand up.

"I said don't!" I groaned. "Fuck you. Just fuck you. I don't want to be in that house with you and your perfect family."

"You're part of that family."

"Shut up!" I nearly screamed. Right now, my emotions were a rollercoaster and, heck, I just needed a drink.

The rest of the ride was in complete silence. When we pulled into the driveway to our house, I noticed the unfamiliar SUV parked on the curb.

"I'm not going in," I said and pulled out my phone. "I'm calling Mason and having him pick me up."

"Nope," Dad quickly snatched my phone out of my hand. "You know what, you don't have to like Sara or even talk to her but you have to at least meet Gabriela. She's 3 and I've told her about you-"

"Does this woman know about Mom?" I asked him.

"She does. I never kept this life a secret from her."

"Holy shit, she's a homewrecker and she knows it. Can she get any worse?"

"Hey, I take full blame for all of my mistakes. Blame me, not her."

"Hmm," I pretended to think. "How about I blame both?"

He sighed. "Just please come in. You can leave after 15 minutes."

"What the hell, why not?" I shrugged and said bitterly. "I'm pretty sure Demi never wants to talk to me now and Alyson is angry because I won't explain why and she thinks I'm a bitch. I might as well spend time with the people that ruined my life just to see how worse it can get."
