Dani's POV
"Alright we have, at most, an hour before Demi wakes up and realizes she's cuddling a pillow," I said when I piled into the car with Eddie, Dianna, and Alyson.
"I can't believe I'm actually at Demi Lovato's house and now I'm in the car with her family," Alyson said.
I rolled my eyes and punched her playfully in the arm. "Get over being a fangirl for like 10 minutes please," I looked at Eddie, who was driving, and Dianna from the backseat. "You guys have to help me here. I have money saved up so I can take care of that part but I want to get her the perfect present. What would she like?"
"How do you even shop for someone who has everything?" Alyson asked and I shrugged.
"You'll be surprised what a gift from the heart can do, Dani," Dianna answered and I bit my lip in thought. I wanted this to be perfect. I had at least $5,000 dollars saved up in my account from my job that I had in junior year so I wasn't too limited with the price. I just really wanted this to be a perfect gift. I fucked up bad with her and wanted to make it up in any way possible.
Eddie clapped his hands together, bringing me out of my thoughts. "I got it!" he said and looked back at me. "How about you get her some jewelry today? And then go crazy with flowers on Christmas morning?"
Dianne nodded. "I took one of her rings earlier just in case that's what you wanted to do. That way you know what size she'll need."
"This is totally going to cut into my Christmas present," Alyson said and I rolled my eyes and punched her arm again. "I'm kidding! Damn, if you keep doing that my arm is going to fall off."
"Alright, Eddie, let's head out," I said and he backed out of the driveway. "We need to get back before she wakes up because, out of all of you, I'm the one she'll get pissed at for disappearing and I don't feel like sleeping outside in the cold."
We drove 15 minutes to a jewelry store.
"Dianna, can I have the ring?" I asked when we walked in and she nodded and handed it to me. Then we all split up to go look around. It took maybe 10 minutes before Alyson called me over to look at one.
"This one looks perfect," she said and pointed to it. It had a thick band and in the middle there were engraved hearts that were sideways and touched at the bottom so it made a sort of infinity sign and those went all around the ring. On each side of the hearts, there was a row of little diamonds. I compared it to Demi's ring that I had and it even looked like it was the same size.
"May I help you, ladies?" A tall, skinny, and bald man walked over to us behind the counter and smiled.
"Yes, actually, can I see that ring right there? The third from the back?" I asked. He nodded and pulled it out.
"Oh, this is a nice one. 14 karat white gold." Tom, according to his name tag, pulled it out and handed it to me. He looked at Alyson. "You are a lucky girl."
I was about to protest but she linked her arm with mine and kissed my cheek.
"Aren't I though?" She said with the biggest smile on her face.
"Shut up, Aly," I said and nudged her then turned back to Tom. "It's not for her. It's going to be a Christmas present for my girlfriend so she doesn't know we're here."
Just then my phone started ringing and I prayed in my head that it wasn't her. I pulled it out and glanced at the screen.
Fuck.
I sighed and answered it.
"Danielle, where in the hell are you?" Demi shouted and I winced and pulled the phone away from my ear. Tom and Aly looked at me in amusement.
