Richard

'I said, do you want him back?'

She noded on my shoulder.

'Paano?' She asks with craking voice.

I was stunned at my own thoughts voiced out loud to her.

'Paano mo magagawa yun?' She asked me again pleading like she'll throw her last straw just to have her man back.

Lucky guy.

And so with a heavy heart I promised her,

'I will find a way Raine. Trust me.'

8 hours earlier that day...

Manila Cathedral Church

Everything is set. The church is already decorated with different beautiful flowers mostly two lips covering almost every area trancending a scent of a lost paradise. The aisle is fully carpeted with petals scattered artfully on the floor. Every guests was on their assigned seats all in tune on the moment. In any minute the wedding is about to begin.

'Girl, may tanong ako sa'yo.' Louie Anne asked her friend as they both stood outside waiting for their que as part of the entourage.

'Oh, ano?'Raine unbashedly answered.

She commented on her friend's black satin dress.

In turn, Raine went near to her ear and whisper,

'Eh ikaw, san binyag?' She said sarcasticaly.

'Heh! Ewan ko sa'yo, pilosopa!'

'Ikaw kasi eh, wag mo kong simulan.'

They stopped on their banter as the coordinator started to line them up properly. Since they are both Pat's maid of honor, they'll have to walk next to each other.

'Pero girl ah infairness talaga dun sa photographer mong kasama, ang yummy!!!' Bulong na may diin ni L.A sa kaibigan.

'Yummy talaga yun, marshmallow yun eh.'

'Huh? Anong marshmallow? Nanliligaw ba sayo yun?'

'Excuse me?! Slow down girl. Kakakilala lang namin no. Tsaka kahit gwapo yun he's not really my type, at isa pa, I guess he is just exploring trying out things and meeting new people.' She reasoned.

'Eh what if may gusto sa'yo, ano gagawin mo?'

She looked overwhelm by the comment of her friend.

What if may gusto sya sakin?

Well the answer is simple: I'll erase him in my life. That's it.

After all I've come to conclusion na si Sam lang ang kayang mahalin ng puso ko. Richard is just a stranger that keeps doing things to get her attention for what? May atraso eh. He's just a living marshmallow donned with polo and slacks that turns him into a dashing bachelor with his americana now put on.

Yes. He's just a marshmallow. I thought.

Here's a secret: I don't like marshmallows.

Raine

'Heart beats fast colors and promises...'

The singer started to sing. And as I look on you, I know in my heart that I would give anything just to be in the position of your bride.

'One step closer...'

I stil remember those days when we are on a field trip at lagi tayong seat mates. You would give me the privilage of having the seat beside the window because you knew how I love to stare outside. How in those long trips you would fall asleep and lean on my shoulder. Now I ask myself this question: 'what if?' What if I wasn't shy to show you how I feel on those times? What if instead of leaning on the glass away from you, I chose to lean back, close my eyes as I savor the moment and put our heads together?

'I have died everyday waiting for you...'

I waited for you all these years. Hoping that you'll realize how much I love you. How much I'm willing to give up everything just to have you...

The song was almost on its end and everyone looked tensed and worried having the same question written all over their faces:

Where's the bride?

Full minute of total confusion until a running almost tripping woman came out of nowhere handing a paper to the groom. I watch as a display of emotions played on his face.

After reading he broke down on the floor dazed. His knees failed him and his eyes gave away the duck of tears he's holding back for quite a while.

Everyone is afraid to come near him. We are glued on our feet looking solely at him.

Another full minute passed.

After mustering all the courage I have and decided to come near him.

Just like the old days.

It's just right now, we play a different role.

But before my hand can lay hold of him, he ran. And I was left with a crumbled paper he left, and my theory was proven true: the bride has ran away.

I don't know what happened next, but I found myself driving on every street of manila looking for him wishing.

Sam, ako na lang...
