It’s been a month na nung kinasal kami ni Chard at every new day seem to be happier than the day passed. I think, I’m falling slowly with his smile, his kindness, his concern towards me…I think I’m falling slowly with him and that thought causes unsteadiness in my breathing. Eto yung isang bagay na hindi ko sinasadya and it felt so good. It felt so good to have someone like him whose eyes are always looking at me. Every day, my heart is starting to recognize him, perhaps I’m starting to love him.

Love?

Eto na ba yun?

Bumaba ako from my room and I saw him on his favourite couch na nakaidlip.
Ow shocks! May pasok pa sya ah.
I hurriedly went down para gisingin sya when I saw an envelope na nasa lamesa. In curiosity, I took a peek on it.

Hmmmm…hindi naman siguro masama no?

With furrowed brows I scanned the documents and was startled on what it says: Marriage contract not yet processed.

Anong ibig sabihin nito? Anong pwedeng implikasyon nito?

I looked at him at ngayon ko lang napansin ang pagkabalisa sa natutulog nitong pigura. Chard?

He woke up an hour after habang busy ako in preparing our lunch. I saw him on the side of my eyes rubbing his eyes and yawning. I breathe deeply before turning to him, ayokong magpahalata that I’m bothered on what I saw.

‘Mallows! Kala ko di ka na gigising eh.’ I said too excitedly.

Sana di ako obvious.

‘Huh?’ He said weakly. I sense that he’s bothered too.

‘Hey bakit di ka pumasok?’ Tanong ko sa kanya habang naglalakad palapit. ‘Kaw ah..tamad mo..hehe. joke lang. Date tayo.’

‘Huh?’

Patanong nyang sabi siguro ay nagtataka sa aya ko.

‘Date. Di pa kaya tayo nagde-date no.’

‘Ah…’ Sabi nya at napatingin sa sahig.

Bakit? What’s happening?

I don’t want to prolong our agony and so I unceremoniously hug him.

‘I saw it.’

‘Huh?’ He said trying to pull out from the embrace but I hold him tighter.

‘I saw the papers and the notice. Ano ba ibig sabihin nun?’

Napasinghap sya ng malalim.

‘That means we are not yet married legally. There are some problems that transpire habang pinoproseso yung papers natin. It has to do with my ‘Jr.’ walang jr yung nagawang marriage licence. Typo error, and so ayun parang lumalabas hindi pa talaga tayo kasal kasi it’ll take atleast a month para makapag issue ng pinakamabilis na bagong licence.’

‘Oh, e di after a month kasal na pala tayo legally, ano pinoproblema mo?’ I asked as I look at him. ‘Ah…yung pa-gifts mo nung isang araw pinobroblema mo…Di bale di na ko manghihingi ng regalo ulit.’

He frowned.

‘Of course not…hindi yun no. Kahit regaluhan kita araw-araw okey lang.’

‘Eh ano nga…?’

He grabbed his phone from his pocket and handed it to me. Naguguluhan talaga ako eh but I held on my patience and look at it.

Hmmmm…Sam?

Pre, pwede ka bang makausap?

Why would he txt Chard instead of me? After disappearing on that night na binaba nya ko from his car hindi na sya nagparamdam tapos ngayon gusto nyang magpakipagkita sa asawa ko?

‘Hmmm…ano to?’ I asked Chard again.

‘Di mo ba nakikita message from Sam.’

‘Sabi na nga ba eh…aagawin ka na ba  nya saken?’

He chuckled a little.

‘Sira...’

‘Ano nga? Anong problema? Wag ka makipagkita.’

‘I know but..’ He sighed. ‘After seeing this notice this morning, anong laban ko sa kanya? He can easily get you from me.’

Huh? What are you saying?

Sapukin kaya kita.

‘What do you mean?’ I said seriously not liking his implication. ‘You think if he texted me na: Raine mahal kita, tayo na lang ulit, I’ll come running to him? Ganun ba tingin mo sakin? I thought you think highly of me. Psh. Bahala ka na nga.’ I said while standing up at padabog na kinuha ang wallet at susi ng kotse palabas ng bahay.

‘Raine….’ Sigaw ni Chard habang sinusubukan akong habulin,but I don’t care. Right now, I’m really pissed off.
