Hindi kami nag-usap sa buong byahe going home. I mean sino ba maglalakas ng loob sa amin na basagin tong katahimikan? Of course not me!

Hay…my mind keeps on playing our kiss kanina and I feel my heart racing just by the thought. My goodness! That could lead to something. I shrug off the thought and slump my head instead on the window kunwari inaantok ako.

What did just happened? After that intense kiss interrupted by the one and only Peter, there’s an awkward silence between us. Pinagsisisihan kaya nya? Argh…I wasn’t able to control kanina. I might just scared her away.

So there, we drove home without a single word uttered, we entered the house at diretso kami sa kani-kaniyang kwarto. Will she sleep here again? Was my internal question. Huy! Ano ba, tinakot mo na tol. Now she thinks you’re a perv. What? why?

After an hour bumaba kami to share in silence our dinner, wala pa ring nagsasalita. I can’t read her face. Was she mad? Saktan mo na lang ako Raine wag ganito.

We finished our meal and headed to our respective room without sharing our ‘nightly ritual’. There in my bed my worries crept in. Galit ata talaga sya.

I waited for her for hours hoping she’ll knock on my door and take the missing piece on the side of this bed. But after hours of anticipating, there’s no sign of her and I have to take a deep breath for that.

Nagawa ko na ata lahat ng posisyon na pwede, halos pumasok na nga ako sa ilalim ng kama ko pero di talaga ako madalaw ng antok. One night of sleeping beside her ang rason nito, now I can no longer sleep alone!

Kaya naman, kinapalan ko na talaga ang mukha ko.  I get up from my bed, kinuha ang mga unan ko and proceeded to her room.

Uy, bukas pa yung ilaw nya.

I knock faintly, my knees wobbling.
‘Raine, tulog ka na?’ I whispered through the door. ‘Pwede pumasok?’

I waited for an answer. Paalis na ko dapat nung biglang bumukas ang pinto at sumilip sya. She saw me on my pajamas habang dala-dala yung mga unan ko. She opened it fully, brows lifted puzzled.

‘Hmmm..bakit?’ Tanong nya. Kinakabahan ako. Ready your cheeks Ricardo, you might get a slap.

‘Ahmmm…’

‘What?’

‘Pwede magtanong?’

‘Hmmm…’

‘Pwede makitulog?’ Nahihiyang kong sabi na ikinataas ng kilay nya.

‘huh?---'

‘Hindi ako makatulog eh.’

Magpapaliwanag pa sana ako ng alalayan nya ako papasok sa kwarto nya.

Hmmm…Ang bango naman dito.

We stopped at the edge of her bed and sit there.

‘You sure with this?’ Tanong nya sakin.

Huh? Anong ibig mong sabihin?

‘huh? Saan?’

‘This, sleeping beside me.’ Sagot nya while looking me in the eyes. ‘Baka kasi naiilang ka.’

‘Ikaw nga hinihintay ko kanina pa na pumasok dun sakin eh. I’m worried sick that you’ll think I’m taking advantage of you. Lalo na yung kanina…’ Both of us blushed at the mention of that.

‘Ano ka ba, di ba nga sabi ko asawa kita tukmol, why would I think that you’re taking advantage of me? And about dun sa kiss natin kanina sa office mo, di ba that’s what normal couples do? It’s not a big deal.’
