My eyes opened into a dream.Darkness seemed to be everywhere I looked. But as I spun around a small dot of light was seen in front of me. I narrowed my eyes and cocked my head to the side, I spread my arms out either side of me, my hands grazed the cold, hard surface of a stone wall . So from the feel of my surroundings I would say I was in a tunnel or passageway.
With a deep breath, I slowly stared to walk forward. As I walked the dot got bigger and bigger until it was the shape of a gate way.
As I walked, the weight of the clothes I wore, became noticeable, they were heavy and when I moved I heard the clanging of metal against metal.
I walked out of the tunnel and was blinded by the sunlight.
The sound of people cheering was so loud. l raised my hand to shield my eyes from the blinding light. I lowered my hand slowly and looked around. That was when I realised I was in an arena, wearing medieval knight armour.
The crowd cheered louder as I looked at them, whistles erupted as I spun around in a slow circle to take in the entire crowd. With a rumble chain like nets sprung up from the edges of the circular, sandy arena that I was now stranded in.
Another slow rumbling sound caused me to look over my shoulder. The iron gate was slowly closing
"Wait!" I yelled.
Too late
The gate crashed to the ground with a loud bang, trapping me in. I desperately looked around for a way out, left, right, but when my eyes rose to the very top of the arena all thoughts of escaping vanished.
Then I heard the scream.
"Micah!"
Sam! They were at the top of the dome, all five of them.
Maria, Tarli, Henry, Jarvis and Sam. My family back at the base.
They screamed for help, they screamed my name, but when I stepped forward to help them something- someone strong gabbed me from behind and stopped me from lurching forward.
They kicked out my leg from underneath me, causing me to fall painfully down onto one knee. I heard Maria's voice scream my name, I looked up and my eyes widened in horror at what I saw. Five half evolved Wolff demon hybrids had the five of them with their heads tilted back, their necks bare. As I Looked closer, I realized one of the Wolff demons looked familiar.
Marvas.
As if hearing my thoughts, Marvas looked up and met my eyes, he seemed to smile at me for a moment. I shook my head at him. please. I mouthed, unable to find my voice
not them
Marvas seamed to scoff and then he slid the blade across Maria's throat. The crowd cheered as the blood ran down her skin and as I cried out struggling against the person-the thing holding me back, they snapped my head painfully back and looked down into my face.
Fear flamed up in my stomach.
A hybrid of a Wolff demon and vampire, like the one that attacked me the other day, held me by my hair. It laughed and forced me to watch as the rest of their throats were slit. I cried out over and over again. I struggled to get free when I watched Marvas leap down and walk over to me, holding the bloody blade in his mouth. He stopped in front of me and drew the flat of the blade slowly across my face.
I felt the wetness of the blood on my cheek and as it ran in tiny rivets down my skin. His glowing amber eyes looked into mine, he growled deep in his throat, chucked the knife aside and just looked at me.
