After ten minutes I couldn't take it anymore.
I stopped Jasper, dismounted and dropped onto the ground. Minhyuk pulled up beside me and looked down at me in question, Yukwon who was in front of us didn't notice and kept on going, calling out the boys names.
"I'm going to search around here," I said, pulling Jaspers reins over his head "you guys keep on going."
Minhyuk nodded "be careful" he said and kept on riding.
I nodded and tied Jasper to a tree by his reins. I pulled the small sword from his saddle and slid it into the belt as I began walking into the forest, I didn't get very far.
"Micah!" Yukwon called
"yeah~!" I called teasingly.
I smiled as I heard the snapping of twigs and the crackle of dead leaves as he hurried after me.
"where are you going?" He asked breathlessly from behind me.
I turned around, Yukwon was bent over with his hands on his knees, trying to breathe steadily.
"it's easier on foot." I simply said with a shrug.
Yukwon looked up at me in disbelief, he let out a breathless laugh and straightened up.
He chuckled, stopped, and laughed again. He ran a hand through his dirty blonde hair and moved it away from his eyes. "prefers to walk than ride" he muttered to himself.
"ok" he shook his head in amusement and smiled at me.
I nodded at him and turned back around. I walked in silence, twisting my knife around in my hands, listening for the voices of the others. Every third or forth tree I passed I marked by running my knife down its trunk, so I knew what direction I was coming from if we were to get lost.
After a while Yukwon started humming along to a song as we searched. I expected it to annoy me but it actually calmed me down. He sang quietly along to a bit and I found my self turning and staring at him, he was looking to our left as he sang and he turned back and noticed me.
"what?" He asked
"you were singing " I said.
"did it annoy you? sorry, I'll stop." He smiled.
"no," I shook my head "No it was nice, you have a good voice." I smiled.
The smile on his face got bigger and he looked away shyly.
I smiled lightly to myself and turned back around and began walking again, moments later I heard him start to hum and sing again.
Minutes later the expected rain came.
"great" I muttered and continued walking.
I pushed past a row of bushes and swore.
I jumped back, away from the edge of a small cliff. But to my horror, my boots slipped on the wet, loose pebbles and I began falling forwards. Before I could fall and slide off the edge, Yukwon ran forward and grabbed me in his arms. He stumbled backwards with me half in his arms half out.
Yukwon didn't have a very good hold on me and he hadn't yet regained his balance from running so fast. He tried to put me on my feet, but in the movement slipped and fell forward taking me with him to the ground. I fell onto my back onto the grass with a groan and he managed to catch himself above me before landing directly on top of me.
Breathing heavily through his nose Yukwon held himself frozen above me, his elbows either side of my shoulders. His damp hair tickled my forehead as the ends of it delicately touched my skin.
He stared shocked down into my eyes and I stared back, a drop off rain rolled off his nose and onto my skin running down on to my top lip, I saw his eyes glance down at my lips than back up to my eyes.
He stared down at me and I stayed still, staring back at him
