Micah Ajae-Lee is a Hunter, trained to kill. But her life has an un expected twist and goes downhill from there. The people she had learned to call family, killed. The race she had learned to kill, killed her heart. The race she never knew existed...
I can't remember the last time I had been awoken by the sound of a knock on my door. Actually, I can't remember the last time I went to sleep at my own will.
I groaned and sat up, as I moved a wave of vertigo hit. I swayed and fell back against the pillows. "Whoa.... head rush"
I heard a familiar chuckle at my door and sat up again, slowly this time. I rubbed at my eyes and opened them to see Kyungsoo. "what?" I groaned.
Kyungsoo laughed "I know it's early but," he tilted his head to the side "I need some meat if we're going to have a good 'welcome back' breakfast"
I yawned "now?"
"yeah," Kyungsoo nodded and laughed again "finally acting like a teenager" he muttered to himself
Teenager? Wait- how old am I?
"Kyungsoo," I called, he turned around "whats the date?"
His eyebrows furrowed as he thought about it "it's the 10th of April, 2164 "
"ok, thanks" I muttered. Kyungsoo nodded and walked out, pulling the door shut behind him.
2164... I was born in February 2145
That makes me 19.
"wow" I muttered to myself as I jumped out of bed and walked over to my closet.
~~
My eyes flicked up at the sound of a twig snapping. I looked to my left and the corner of my lips twitched up when my eyes landed on a deer nibbling at a patch of grass.
I had been out for about two hours, and judging from the sun it was about 7 in the morning. I had already shot two hares and a small dear, and once I got this one, it should be enough to feed 19 boys.
I hooked my arrow into the string and slowly raised my bow. I aimed the arrow at the spot the dears heart would be and pulled back on the string.
Just as I was about to shoot the deer lifted it's head from the grass and looked right at me. My concentration wavered as the creature and I stared at each other, unconsiously I began to lower my bow.
I shook my head and raised it up again, what was I doing? I let out a shaky breath and was about to let the arrow free.
"GOOD MORNING!"
I jumped in suprise, and spun around keeping my bow loaded and raised. I looked down the arrow that was pointing at Yukwon's forehead.
I threw a glance over my shoulder to see if the deer was still there, but was quickly dissapointed when I saw it sprinting in the other direction.
"you idiot!" I hissed and lowered my bow so I could glare at him. "what do you think you're doing?!"
He smiled innocently "I came out to wish the lady good morning"
I gave him a look in disbelief and scoffed, rolling my eyes. "Well done" I muttered
Yukwon laughed "actually, I came here to see if you could teach me how to shoot"
I turned to look at him, I narrowed my eyes "I taught Jaehyo how to shoot, get him to teach you, I'm busy"
I started to walk away, in the direction the dear went when Yukwon spoke again.
"well, I kinda wanted you to be the one to teach me"
