3- Hybrid teeth hurt

Chapter 3

My hair blew around my face as I stared at the five silhouettes. The one to the side reached out and flicked the light switch to on. as the room blazed up in light- I saw their faces- I recognized Kris and Xiumin among the five. I nervously tugged at the ends of my shirt and pulled it down further, I opened my mouth to say something. But thinking of nothing I closed it and looked at the floor boards.

"you're awake."

I looked up at the sound of Kris's voice. I flicked the side fringe out of my face and looked him in the eye.

"uh yeah... I am" I pressed my lips together in a thin line and shrugged. I saw Kris's eyes narrow, I cursed in my head when I realized I was still crying. I wiped hastily at my cheeks and looked back up smiling fully.

"why were you crying?" He asked

"no reason." I answered quickly.

I looked at the other boys one by one, Xiumin smiled at me when my eyes met his. I dipped my head slightly and flicked the stray stands of hair out of my face. I looked to Kris then back at the boys then back to him. I raised my eye brows.

"oh," he caught on. "this is Luhan, Kai, Kyungsoo And Xiumin." He introduced, pointing to each one as he said their name. They were all very good looking, and I was surprised.

" we don't know your name yet." Kyungsoo, I think, spoke up.

"I don't even know your name." Kris said matter-of-factly.

"it's Micah. Micah Ajae-Lee " I answered. I raised my chin and straightened my shoulders. Ready for what they would say next.

"oh, you're a descendant from Jeremy Ajae-Lee." Kai said smiling slightly.

It wasn't really a question but I answered anyway. " yeah, I am." I said narrowing my eyes.

"a descendent from the guy who used his own children for experiments " Kyungsoo said, scoffing, reminding me of the story everyone knew and also of my dark past. My anger flared. Kris saw it in my eyes and took a step towards me.

"you think you know everything" I hissed. My voice was layered upon layer with annoyance and my lips had pulled over my top teeth slightly. Kris stopped in his tracks.

"you don't understand,' I said quietly, looking them in the eye "You don't know the full story."
I turned my back to them and looked back out the window.

"I- I'm sorry. I didn't know." Was all Kyungsoo said. I shrugged and kept my face forward.

I heard them leave. All but one. Or two. I heard foot steps walk towards me and someone stopped slightly behind me and to my left. With a glance out of the corner of my eyes I saw the familiar blonde hair and tall figure.
Kris.

He sighed. "we have dinner in about half an hour, if you want to join us." He said and looked out the window with me.

"I'm not hungry ." I said with no emotion.

"she ate all the sandwiches." I heard Xiumin's voice say. The edges of my mouth twitched and I gave in a small smile. I looked down and tried to make my hair cover it, Kris took a step closer and his cautious hand moved the hair away from my face. His face was right next to mine, I turned my head slightly and met his eyes for maybe five seconds, before hastily looking away.

"you're smiling." He said. I glanced up at him and he was also smiling. His teeth. Two of them looked like fangs.

" yeah, I'm good at that." I heard Xiumin's voice say. Kris's head turned to look at him and I lost view of his teeth.
Damn.
I looked out to the forest. I was sure they were fangs. I'll ask him later. When I get the chance.
He and Xiumin laughed about something, Kris only half heartily.
