Chapter 2:

I knew it all along. My "dreams" somehow always show up in real life in some way. I can see the panic in my moms eyes. Instead of her usual smile, it was nothing. Instead of her soft brown eyes, it was nothing. I can tell she worried about me Addy and Grayson staying alive. Who would blame her? My father died a couple months after Addy was born. He was in the army. He never even met Addy. She never had a father in her life. My mom told me to pack a bag of things I absolutely need. I ran upstairs and into my room. I looked at my dresser. "I'm gonna need this sweatshirt," I said. I grab some other things along with more clothes and look at my phone. There was no power and it was on 63 percent. I put it in my pocket and then went over to my bed. There it was, my necklace my father gave me. It said "daddy's girl" and it was silver. I put it on and took one last step out of my room. I went downstairs and grabbed another bag. I ran into Grayson's room, grabbed stuff and thangs(crackin a walking dead joke) and then to Addy's. Once I was done I went downstairs to my mom. She was holding Addy with a blanket over her. We lived in Atlanta, so it was a little cold in the fall. I looked at Grayson. His mouth was shut. I figured he would say something. But nothing came out. I opened the door to the garage and went to my dad's old cabinet. He told me if I ever needed to, and it only could be an absolute emergency, I could open it. I don't hesitate to open the lock and grab a gun. He told me I was strong for my age , but that was 3 years ago when I was ten.

My mother was weak, especially now that she is worried half to death and with my father not being here. Grayson comes into the garage and gets in the car. "What's going to happen to us?" He said. "I......I really don't know .." My mom put addy on my lap and gets in the driver seat. We figured she shouldn't be in her car seat in case of emergency we could grab her quickly. "Where are we going?" I say. "We're going to head out of Atlanta. Right outside the city. It's not that far and I know a place we might be safe at," mom said. She opens the garage door with the button over her head. "Grayson, it's just like your video games out there. Except you don't come back after game over."
