Chapter 15: "I Promise."

I woke up to the sun shining in the window. Luckily the bus was pretty high up. The brick walls barracaded the bus. But I was still surprised there was no walkers in sight.

~I sit up and look around. Everyone's still asleep.

I get up and walk over to Beth who was sleeping in the drivers seat.

Me- Beth. Wake up-

Beth- *slowly looking at me* Is everyone okay? Are the kids okay?

Me- Yea, - Yea the kids are fine.

They're sound asleep.

Beth- Okay. that's - that's good.

Me- *smiles*

I look back at the kids and realize I should probably wake them up.

But then I notice someone missing.

Here we go again.

Me- Uh Beth... Where's Mika?

Beth suddenly stands up and looks at Lizzie.

Beth- Lizzie!?!?!?

I go to Lizzie and wake her up.

Lizzie- what- what - what do you wa-

Me- Lizzie where's Mika ?!?

Lizzie- *sits up* what do you mean??

Beth- Oh no... *opens door* MIKA! MIKA! ITS BE-

Me- Stop! Your gonna attract walkers!

~Beth got super worried. I was to. I just didn't want to show it for the little kids' sake.

Lizzie- she was here last night, when I went to sleep.

Me- she couldn't have possibly ran too far from here, she would've gotten too scared

Beth- why would she run??

Me- I don't know. Walker, lightning, thunder.

I hesitate a moment.

"The governor." I say.

Lizzie- We have to find her!

Me- That's right Lizzie, and we will. Let's go.

Beth- where do you think your going?

Me- I'm looking for Mika-

Beth- *cuts me off* you can't just leave me here. I mean - *quickly corrects herself* Us. You can't just leave Us.

I sigh.

Me- Then what are we supposed to do?

•just as all hope was gone, a miracle happened. On my birthday.

A simple knocking on the window yet it made me so happy. For once.

Me- Daryl!

Not only to realize was it Daryl, but someone was with him. And I recognized that someone.

Beth untied the rope from the handle and Daryl climbed into the bus. Right after him, was Patrick and Carl.

(Double trouble😏)

Daryl- *out of breath*Is everybody okay?

Lizzie- Mika's............gone.

Daryl- What?

Me- *finishing for Lizzie*

She......... We woke up this morning and she was gone.

• Daryl's eyes became widened.•

Daryl- We have to go and find her-

*cutting him off*

Beth- That was the plan but I couldn't bring all the kids with I mean.....

Daryl- exactly. That's why I'll go.

Me- I want to go with !

Beth- No, Anna

Me- your not my mom!

~ I feel bad that I just yelled at Beth.

Me- Sorry.

Daryl- Anna.....

Me- Oh come on, Please!! I want to go and help find her. I feel like I've been doing nothing to help--

Daryl looks at Beth. They nod at eachother.

Me- seriously, I'm not 4 and you guys aren't my parents.

Daryl- You stay close to me, you hear?

Me- I know!

My birthday suddenly got brighter.

Then I noticed Carl & Patrick. I saw them come in but I guess I forgot when we were taking about Mika.

Carl- Im gonna go too.

Me- *looks at Daryl waiting for him to say no*

Daryl- Okay

Me- WHAT? I ask and It takes an hour long debate but when Mr. Blue eyes asks you don't hesitate?!?!?

Daryl & Beth exchange looks.

Daryl- Uhhhhh..... Sure!

Me- 😒

Whatever.

I grab my gun and knife. I tuck my knife into my belt and have my gun in my hand.

I say goodbye to Lizzie, and the other kids.(they're awake now)

Lizzie looks at me. "Promise you'll find her, and bring her back safe?" She said.

I look back at Lizzie. I wanted her to trust me.

"I promise."
