The Apocalypse

Chapter 9

Chapter 9:

"I'm skylynn," the little girl said.

"Well hello there, Skylynn," Rick said.

"Why were you standing out there by yourself? You know those things aren't people, right?" Rick said.

"Yea, I do." Skylynn said.

"Did your daddy leave you out there?" He said.

"My daddy told me to get your guy's attention & then he would hurt you guys, but he never came when he picked me up." She said as she pointed towards Carl.

"I didn't see anyone, dad." Carl said.

Emily looked at me.

"Us either, there was just a little girl standing outside & walkers were close to getting her." Emily said.

Rick looked at skylynn's arms and legs to make sure there were no scratches or bites.

"Is she good,?" Carl said.

"She's good." Rick said.

I think Carl had some type of connection to Skylynn. He just seemed to care about her a lot. Maybe it was because the way she looked at him when he was saving her.

"Skylynn, do you wanna stay in the same cell as me,?" I say. She nods. "Okay," she says.

I bring skylynn into my cell and set her on the bed. "So how old are you?" I ask.

"I'm four." She said.

"Well I love your name," I said.

"Thanks ," she said.

"Can I call you sky for short, or should I call you Lynn?" I say.

"My mommy daddy & brother called me Sky," she said.

"Well then Sky it is," I said.

She smiled.

Lizzie ran past my cell but then stepped back.

"Who is this?" She said.

"This is Sky," I said.

"Hi Sky, do you want to play with me and the other kids?" She said.

Sky looked at me.

"Go ahead!" I say.

Sky jumps off the bed and grabs Lizzie's hand. They take off.

Carl walks over to my cell.

"Is she ok?" He says.

"Yep, she's fine." I said.

Carl smiles. I smile back.

"So ....... Did we ever find out about her dad?" I say to change the subject.

"Not yet.. We were gonna ask the others about a "Philip"," Carl said.

"Let's go then." I say.

Me and carl walk out of my cell to the others.

Michonne is sitting next to Beth, Beth is sitting next to Daryl, Daryl's sitting next to Rick, & ricks sitting next to Carol.

"Do we know yet dad?" Carl says.

"I was just about to ask." Rick says.

"We have a new addition to our group. Her name is Skylynn, and she was standing out in the middle of all this by herself. She says her father put her out there to get us to come so he could hurt us." Rick said. "And... His name was Philip."

Michonne's eyes shot up.

"Philip???" She said.

"That's what she told me. Why do you know a Philip???" Rick said.

Then I remembered something.

Something about a "Philip".

And so did Michonne.

"Rick, Philip is .... The governor." She said.

I remembered who he was because of Skylynn. Skylynn was my cousin that I barely even knew. I remember my mom telling me about her.
