Chapter 7: part 1

Chapter 7~ pt 1

"Carl? What's going on?" I whispered. "Remember the man I was talking about?" He said. "He's the man," he said. My eyes widened and my heart started beating faster & faster. I stayed quiet. Where Maggie was, the man couldn't see. Maggie crawled to the prison door and ran in to get the others. "Do you think he can see us?" I said to carl. Carl squeezed my hand tighter as the man yelled. He was pretty far away, but he was loud enough. Why would he blow up the prison? That would just be stupid. I thought the apocalypse would bring people together not turn them against one another. "No harm will be done!" The man yelled. "We don't wanna hurt anybody!"he said. I could tell in the mans voice he was lieng. He wanted us dead and the prison to himself.

"Were gonna run," carl said. "What? Are you crazy? He can shoot us! We won't- I couldn't finish my sentence. Maggie came running out with Rick. Soon after Daryl came out with his crossbow. Rick got a glance at me and Carl. He was still holding my hand. Rick knew we were in trouble and that if we got up the man would see us. "WERE NOT LEAVING," Rick said. "I don't want any trouble,!" The man said. "Yeah like the last three times you harmed our people!" Daryl said. Carl smirked. I looked through the bushes and saw the man. "The governor". What kind of name is that?

Then I looked at his people he had with him. Apparently they were his "army".

Then I saw someone I recognized. "Carl, Carl!" I whispered. "What?" He said. "Isn't that ......... Hershel?" I said. Carl looked over to the group. Rick saw us looking and then looked himself. His eyes got bigger and then he turned to Daryl. "Go get the others, now! And hurry!" he said.

Maggie looked at us. She motioned with her mouth, "are you guys okay?" And I motioned back a "yes". Carl looked at me. "Anna, everything's gonna be okay." I looked at him. Then I smiled because I believed him. He was very easy to believe. I wondered about Grayson and addy.

The governor didn't know we were laying on the ground by the fence and we planned on keeping it that way. If we made any sudden moves who knows what would happen. "I believe you," I said to carl. "I don't run this place, we all do. Everyone makes their own decisions." He had a face of anger. "Either way, atleast I don't pretend to be a governor," Rick said.

I had to laugh at that. Thank god I had a quiet laugh. If the governor knew we were so close to him he would've gotten rid of us or used us as hostage. But there was someone else he had as hostage. Hershel. "But I'm guessing Hershel must make his own decisions," governor said. Hershel was kneeling there on the ground. Rick walked down by the fence that was right Infront of the governor. "Come on, Anna, hurry!"carl said. We got up and ran to Maggie. She hugged us. Then soon after Beth and Emily came out. They ran to us. "Where's Glenn??" I said to Maggie. "Daryl was getting him," she said. I'm just keeping watch on them. Never know what will happen. And Rick is one tough man." She said.

Beth stood by the fence right Infront of us. "Maggie! Maggie!" She said. Maggie ran to her. "Dad! He has dad!" She said. Emily ran to the fence. "No not dad no!!!!!!"Emily said. They all stood there and looked at Hershel. I saw him to. His face expression was scared. "Anna, here!" Carl said. He threw me a gun. "Emily, take this!" He said. Emily looked to carl. She was sobbing. "Hurry your gonna need this!" He said. She didn't say anything. She was just crying. Carl walked up to her. "Look, I know your dad's life is on the line right now, but you have to be strong. Everything's gonna be okay," he said. She nodded. "Just get your gun ready, never know what might happen," I said to her. She nodded again and got her gun set on the fence. Carol was right inside the prison with the door open with addy and Grayson and the other kids. That made me feel better. Rick and the governor were talking. They were too far, I couldn't hear them at all.

Then "BAM"! A gunshot. I looked to carl and he had a blank look on his face. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Rick yelled.

I didn't hesitate at all. I fired my gun everywhere. My dad taught me how to shoot along time ago. Carl was shooting to. As well as Beth and Maggie. Then I noticed what the gunshot was.
