I turned around and the man who spoke looked middle aged. He had glasses on and he was in a polo shirt and dress pants.
"Don't worry. I can take care of him." The girl who came out of the earbuds said.
She thrust pink glitter out of her hands towards the man. The man got covered in it and then it disappeared.
"Hello! I'm just here looking for a Michael Jackson record." The man said, smiling.
"Back of the room to the right." I answered.
The man smiled and thanked me as he walked to the back of the room, not in view of us.
"What was that?" I asked the girl.
"Some forgetting dust. He just forgot what happened in the past two minutes." The girl smiled wide and put her hands on her hips.
"So, um, how did you get in the headphones and why did magic just come out of you? And why could I only hear you? Not Sabrina." I asked as I crossed my arms.
"My dad was born in a magical world. He moved to this world so he could find a wife and raise a child away from harmful magic. Little did he know that when he found a wife it was actually a twisted witch from his home place. That's how I have magic. The witch hated how I wanted to use my magic for good. She stuck me inside those headphones. The reason you could hear me and not Sabrina, I don't really know." The girl frowned and put her head down.
"Well, your saying that magic is real?" Sabrina asked.
"Yes." The girl nodded with wide eyes.
"You can't believe her, Kaitlyn." Sabrina shook her head.
"You saw her thrust magic out of her hand and you saw her appear out of your earbuds. How can you still not believe?" I asked.
"Look, maybe I can bring you with me to go find my dad! Hopefully the witch hasn't done anything dreadful to him. I think I know where to find him though! Then we can maybe figure out why you could only hear me." The girl told me and smiled, jumping up and down with excitement.
"Do I want to meddle with a witch? I don't think so." I shook my head.
"She won't hurt you. I promise." The girl smiled. "I won't let her."
"Why couldn't you stop her from putting you in those earbuds?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.
"I don't have powers big enough." The girl frowned.
"Then how can you stop her from hurting me?" I asked.
"You have to trust me. What's your name?" The girl asked.
"Kaitlyn. Yours?" I asked.
"Marabelle." Marabelle smiled.
"I'll go with you. But I have to bring two people with me. OK?" I confirmed.
"Who?" She asked.
"My brother and my friend." I answered.
"By friend do you mean the guy you were confessing to be in love with?" Marabelle smiled and winked.
"Yes. Anyways, I shouldn't let a little girl go on a journey alone. And I have been in need of a journey lately. You can come home with me since you probably don't have anywhere to stay." I smiled.
"You really shouldn't do this, Kaitlyn." Sabrina shook her head.
"You really shouldn't be stopping me. I'm helping her find her dad and I want to know why I was the only one that can hear her, OK? Cause you know full well that when I put my mind to something, I am not backing down." I glared at her. "Come on Marabelle." I said as I took my name badge off, hung it up, put my arm around Marabelle, and walked out of the record shop.
