Zach and I walked hand in hand into the apartment building with Marabelle and Austin. Austin told Caroline to stay back in the car because he didn't want her to get hurt. Zach tried to tell me to do the same thing but I resisted.
"What room does your family live in?" I asked Marabelle.
"Room 322." Marabelle smiled.
I could tell she was excited to see her dad again. I silently doubted her dad was even going to be there.
We walked up the steps all the way to floor 5 where the sign in the lobby said room 322 was. We walked down the hall to the right door and knocked. Nobody answered.
"Let me." Marabelle whispered.
She made pink dust come out of her hand and threw it at the door. The door immediately flew open. Before our eyes we saw a bald man with glasses sitting in a chair, his hands and feet tied, and his mouth gagged.
"DAD!" Marabelle screamed, closed the door behind us, and ran towards her dad.
"Let's untie him, ok Marabelle?" Austin told Marabelle.
"Ok." Marabelle said, looking excited but worried.
After Austin and Zach untied him and put the gag out of his mouth, Marabelle's dad took a huge breath.
"Marabelle!" Marabelle's dad hugged her.
"Daddy! What happened to you?" Marabelle asked.
"Your mom, who is a witch, after putting you in those earbuds, she tied me up here and came to give me food every day. She says she is going to take me back to my home land and execute me in front of my old family. She is dangerous, Marabelle. If you try to fight her she will do the same thing to you. I shouldn't have married her. You need to leave. She will be back any minute." Marabelle's dad explained.
"We can get you out of here daddy. I brought the person who got me out of the earbuds, Kaitlyn. And I brought her brother, her boyfriend, and her brother's girlfriend!" Marabelle said, pointing at us.
"I don't want you or your friends to get hurt." Marabelle's dad said, right before a lady with grey long, curly hair came bursting through the door.
"MARABELLE!" The lady screamed. "What are you doing here, you little brat!" The lady came up, trying to kick Marabelle, before I got in front of her so the lady kicked me.
"Oww!" I fell.
Zach came up to me and got me up off the ground.
"It's fine, a bruise may just be the worst that comes out of it." I dusted my shorts off.
"Get behind me." Zach said.
"Who is this?" The lady said creepily, walking up to me.
The lady touched my chin then touched my hair.
"Kaitlyn Jonas, 18 years old, from Missouri. You helped Marabelle out of the earbuds, correct?" The lady asked while dragging her finger down my arm.
"Yes." I gulped.
"Get away from her." Zach and Austin said at the same time.
"You want to know why you could only get Marabelle out of those earbuds and nobody else?" The lady asked.
"Yes." I said quietly.
"Because you are the one person in the world that makes her the most happy." The lady laughed. "But now I'm gonna take you from her."
"Don't I make you happy, Marabelle?" Marabelle's dad asked.
"Yes. But not as much as Kaitlyn makes me happy. I'm sorry daddy." Marabelle hugged her dad.
"Well, say goodbye Marabelle!" The lady laughed.
"You aren't going to touch her." Austin came up to the witch.
The witch simply used her magic to make Austin unconscious.
"No last goodbyes, Marabelle? Ok!" The lady said before taking a knife and attempting to stab me in the heart.
"NO!" Zach tackled the lady.
"KAITLYN! RUN!" Marabelle yelled.
"I'm not leaving you, Zach, and Austin here." I said.
"I love you. But you have to go." Marabelle ran up to hug me.
"I'M NOT LEAVING!" I screamed.
"I will either kill you and everybody in this room gets to leave or kill everybody except you and one person of your choice." The lady laughed while being tackled.
I didn't want to die. I wanted to be happy. But I wanted everybody else to stay alive and be happy too.
"Kill me." I said quietly.
"I'd be glad to." The lady smirked.
"No, Kaitlyn don't!" Zach yelled.
"I'm not letting you guys die." I gulped.
The lady got up off the ground and pushed Zach away. She took out her knife and stabbed me in the heart.
My body started shaking. My body was glowing. I saw the lady start shaking too and she looked mad. I saw Zach and he was screaming. Marabelle was crying into her dad's chest.
Suddenly, it all stopped. I was perfectly fine. There wasn't even blood. The lady who stuck a knife in me was now on the floor, probably dead.
"KAITLYN!" Zach ran up and picked me up.
He was crying into my shoulder. I couldn't say anything my eyes were super wide. I put my arms around him too. I was about to lose him and everyone I loved.
"GOSH, I love you." He kept saying as he kept his arms around me and wouldn't take them away.
Marabelle came up too and was crying into my shirt. Austin was still unconscious.
"I love you guys too." I closed my eyes and soaked in the feeling of two people I loved dearly hugging me tight.
