After we stopped kissing, I looked up at Zach. He was smiling. I was smiling. I don't think I've ever been happier.
"Well, we should get back to Austin and the rest of the crew." I said, looking down at Zach's hands still on my waist.
"Yeah, of course." He said as he put his hands off.
We walked while holding hands back to to where everybody got off the plane.
It's like I have an actual boyfriend. A really hot one. One that's a really good kisser. Maybe that's just because I haven't kissed many people.
"You two look happy." Austin said as we walked up to him, Caroline, and Marabelle.
I just realized I was smiling super wide and Zach was too.
"What happened while you two were away?" Austin asked.
"I'll tell you later." I told him.
We started walking to the baggage claim and Austin and I were trailing behind the others.
"We kissed." I whispered to Austin.
"WHAT!" Austin yelled.
"He said I was beautiful! And he...he said he doesn't think anybody can leave a conversation with me without feeling like a million bucks. How can you not kiss someone who tells you that!" I whispered.
"Since Mom and Dad aren't here I have to be protective of you. And you making out with Zach is not OK. You barely even know him!" Austin exclaimed.
"We were not even making out! And you barely know Caroline!" I proclaimed.
"Yeah, but I don't go off in private with her making out!" Austin yelled.
"But I'm happy!" I exclaimed.
"I knew it was a bad idea bringing some jerk here." Austin started pacing.
"BUT IM HAPPY! YOU KNOW I NEVER GET TO BE HAPPY! NEVER! I NEVER GET WHAT I WANT. IVE HAD TO LIVE MY WHOLE LIFE WITH NOBODY OR NOTHING TO MAKE ME HAPPY. WELL NOW I DO. AND YOU WANT TO RIP HIM AWAY FROM ME! BECAUSE YOU GET EVERYTHING YOU WANT." I screamed.
Everybody in the hallway we were walking down was staring at me, including Zach and Marabelle.
"I'm sorry." I said quietly.
I started running. I just wanted to be away from everybody. I saw the baggage claim. I ran up to it and sat down in a chair, my head in my knees.
I just wanted to be happy. Doesn't Austin understand?
Zach came up and sat next to me. I couldn't look at him.
"If your brother doesn't like me, that's OK. I don't want to make your brother mad." Zach said quietly.
"Fine. I'll just stay miserable for the rest of my life." I looked away.
"I don't want you to be miserable. I just don't want you and your brother's relationship to die off because of me." Zach explained.
"Yeah. OK." Tears were streaming down my face.
"I'm sorry." I heard him say quietly.
I got up and walked away from him. I went to the bathroom and locked myself in a stall.
I texted Austin:
Kaitlyn:
Thanks for successfully chasing the one thing that made me happy away from me.Austin:
I'm sorry.I stayed in that stall for an hour just crying. Marabelle kept coming in to try to get me out. I didn't budge.
Zach:
I love you.Kaitlyn:
Your just saying that to try to get me to come out.Zach:
No. I talked to your brother. He said he just wants you to be happy. I love you. I love everything about you. Ever since I saw you first walk into Dunkin Donuts to the time I almost let you go an hour ago to now. I love you. And I'm never letting go of you.I unlocked the stall immediately. I walked out of the bathroom. Zach was standing right there, arms open. I ran into them.
"Now come on, lets have an adventure of a lifetime." Zach whispered in my ear and kissed my cheek.
"I love you." I whispered.
"Love ya too, boo." Zach laughed.
Zach and I walked over to Austin, Caroline, and Marabelle where they had our luggage all ready.
"Thank you." I hugged Austin.
"I just wanted you to be happy." Austin smiled.
"Now Marabelle, do you know where your father lives?" I asked.
"43rd street." She smiled wide.
"Ok let's get an Uber." I nodded.
Once our Uber came, I sat next to Zach in the back seat as Caroline, Austin, and Marabelle sat in the middle seat.
I laid my head on Zach while he put his arm around me.
"Your hot." He whispered, then laughed.
"Oh why thank you!" I flipped my braids then laughed.
I fell asleep on Zach's chest.
I woke up and the car was still moving.
"How long did I sleep?" I asked Zach while stretching.
"10 minutes approximately. We should be there in about 10 more minutes." Zach answered.
"Are you excited to see your dad?" I asked Marabelle.
"Yes! Hopefully the witch didn't do anything terrible to him." Marabelle turned around from her seat and frowned.
"Let's just have hope alright?" I smiled.
"Ok." Marabelle smiled slightly.
I was a little scared that the witch would hurt us once we got there. I've never met a witch nor knew that they even existed before yesterday.
"It will be OK. If the witch wants to hurt you she will have to get past me." Zach read my face and squeezed my hand.
I looked into his soft blue eyes and at his messy blonde hair. I trust him. I smiled.
