On January 11, 1757, a child was born to a woman named Rachel Faucette Buck and a man named James Hamilton. This child was Alexander. Both were oblivious to the fact that their son would go on to be one of the most brilliant men that ever walked the earth.

When Alexander was 10 years old, his father left him and his mother alone in the Caribbean to fend for themselves. Two years later, Alexander and his mother had fallen ill. Alexander eventually recovered, but his mother passed away when he was only 12.

At this point, sources differ. History books say that when he was 13, a hurricane came in and destroyed his town. However, in the song Hurricane, it says that he was 17 when the hurricane came. Regardless, both sources agree that his vivid description of the storm in his writings impressed all who read it. A group of leaders came together and raised funds to send Alexander to the colonies, where he could get the education he deserved.

This is where this story begins. But there will be changes in this version.

Alex's mother didn't die.

He was not born in 1757. He was born in 1999.

He comes to New York to go to Sons of Liberty University in the year 2016.

The people will be the same. But they will not share the same fates.

For one, no one dies (maybe).

That's already a definite plus, right?

Yes. Yes, it is.

(Warning: What you're about to read is the result of Ashburn's year-long obsession about a musical about the Founding Father Alexander Hamilton and the sudden realization that she needed to find a way to celebrate his birthday, which it the original date of this book's publication. This plot was thrown together in a matter of seconds, so be prepared for a rewrite at some point in the future #sorrynotsorry )
