John

It was Sunday, at 11:59 PM. Alex and I were sitting on the bed, cuddling. His head was against my shoulder.

At exactly 12:00 AM, two plastic knives were slid under our door with the names Charles Lee and Elizabeth Schuyler written on the "blades" with a black sharpie.

We looked at each other, then took the knives (I took the Charles Lee knife while Alex took the Eliza knife) and crept outside.

The hall was pitch-black. Alex clung onto my hand, his grip growing shakier and shakier every second.

All of a sudden there was a scream.

Alex immediately clung to me and whimpered quietly at the sound. I rubbed his back and kissed his hair and held him close to my side.

There was a sudden yell from behind us. We whirled around to find Aaron Burr ready to slash at one of us. Alex's name was written on the knife.

Alex yelled "NOPE!" and shoved him back into the wall and grabbed my hand and raced out of the hallway, holding his fake knife like a dagger, looking around for Eliza. I began scanning the halls for Charles Lee and someone who might want to kill me.

We heard someone smack into a wall behind us. We whirled around to see Alex's dad on the ground, rubbing his forehead.

"Damn it, should've seen that," he muttered. He spotted us and waved. "Hey, do you boys know where Professor Franklin went? He's on my knife."

We shrugged, and he swore under his breath. "Thanks anyway," he said, then stood up and stalked off.

We looked at each other and chuckled, then continued stalking the grounds, looking for our victims.

My God, that sounds creepy.

Alex came home from getting lunch looking rather defeated. I furrowed my brow and stood up to give him a hug.

"Honey, what's wrong?" I asked softly.

"Burr jumped out of the shadows like a creepy ass demon bitch and murdered me," he muttered, pouting. Now he has to kill Eliza."

"Don't be so sure of that."

We jumped and whirled around to see Lizzie standing in the open doorway.

"Burr's already dead. He says he won't tell anyone who did it," she explained. "It's part of the game, so that you can't warn someone who their murderer is. Also, if someone gets their own knife, they have to turn it in to the Game Masters, who will switch knives with someone, and you will receive the knife they were carrying."

Alex slowly backed away. I turned to giggle at him.

When I looked back, Lizzie was gone.
