(Before this chapter begins and ya'll are like, "WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO BABY ALEX?!" I say this: screw your feelings, that's why.)

TW: Rape

John

About ten minutes after Alex went to the bathroom, he returned in a mess of tears, sobbing into his hands. He was bruised and bloodied, dirt and grime covering his clothes. He jumped away at every single person who even brushed up against him.

Something was very, horribly wrong.

I ran towards him, and he collapsed into my arms, sobbing and panting.

"H-He was e-e-everywhere, i-in my head, o-o-on my body," Alex cried. "H-He kept t-t-touching me, I s-s-said n-no, but he k-kept going! H-he wouldn't s-stop..."

"Alex, baby, what happened?"

"G-G-George K-King raped m-me."

A burning rage filled my body and ran through my veins in an instant. How dare he touch him? How DARE he?!

"I'm gonna kill him," I seethed. "I am going to murder him."

"I just wanna go h-home," he sobbed. "I want everything to end..."

My heart fell to my shoes. "Okay, baby, I'm gonna take you to the hospital and call the cops on him, okay, baby? I love you so goddamn much."

I led him outside and to a bench, sitting him down, and used my phone to call the police, telling them that Alex had been raped at the party.

A few minutes later, a cruiser appeared in front of us, along with a female officer.

"You John Laurens?" she asked, getting closer to me. Alex shivered and scooted closer to me.

"Yeah," I replied, not letting go of Alex.

"Where's the party at?" she asked, lowering her voice as to not scare Alex anymore.

"Down the road at the karaoke bar," I said. "Can you drive us to the hospital?"

Her demeanor softened and she smiled sadly at Alex and me. "Of course, sugar. I can get another officer to take care of Mr. King."

She ran back to her cruiser to page another officer.

"I'm so s-sorry," Alex hiccuped. "I r-ruined the night f-for everyone..."

"No, you didn't," I whispered. "It was King who ruined it. You did nothing wrong." I carefully stroked his hair. He leaned in closer to me and buried his face in my chest and breathed in deeply.

"H-Have I ever told you how good you smell?" he asked weakly.

I smiled sadly. "No, you haven't, but thanks, baby."

"Another officer is on his way there," the woman said gently, approaching us cautiously. "You can come with me. My name is Jamie, by the way."

"Thank you, Jamie," I said, helping Alex stand up and guiding him over to the back of the cruiser. We got in, Alex cuddled up next to me and took off to the hospital. Jamie had turned her lights on to help get us there faster.

When we got there, Jamie guided us in, explaining to the receptionist that we had a time-sensitive case. We immediately were put into emergency care, Alex got a room, and was taken for examination.

"Mr. Laurens, if you would answer some questions for me, that would be wonderful," Jamie said, sitting down on a spare chair in Alex's room. I sat in the other.

She asked a couple of basic questions, and I gave her all that I knew, and soon enough, Alex was brought back into the room, followed by another officer.

"King is detained," he said to Jamie, who nodded at him. "We found some evidence on the victim, but we're a little confused."

"About what?"

"One of the foreign hairs we retrieved off of the victim is a bleached hair, along with smudges of concealer."

Jamie furrowed her eyebrows. "What? Does the suspect have bleached hair? Or wear concealer?"

"That's what we're about to find out. We need you back at the station to help examine the evidence," the officer said.

"Understood," she said, then turned to me and Alex. "Gentlemen, we have what evidence we need from you. You should receive a notice to appear in court within the next few days. Have a good evening."

And with that, she left.
