Peggy

I immediately knew something was up when I heard the whispers.

It was mostly tame stuff about classes and such, but I couldn't help but hear something.

"Did you hear Maria Lewis is here? Jesus, I thought we had gotten away from her!"

"God, she's such a slut."

I tensed.

Maria Lewis was here?

As if on queue, I heard them say something else a second later.

"Oh my God, she's right there."

I turned around and was face-to-face with the most beautiful girl on Earth.

Maria had long, thick brown hair that fell down in waves. It reached about halfway down her chest, where it stopped after a couple of sweeping curls. She had thick lips that she had covered with wine-red lipstick. Her almond-shaped eyes were a soft brown. Her skin was a golden-bronze color.

Her beautiful face lit up when she saw me.

"Oh my God, Peggy!" she squealed, then ran towards me and enveloped me in a huge hug. She planted a kiss on my cheek. I did the same to her.

"Oh, Maria, it's been so long!" I exclaimed. "Oh, honey, how have you been?"

I should explain.

Maria is my girlfriend. We've been dating for two years ever since she broke up with her abusive boyfriend James Reynolds. I was planning to propose to her one day, but I was absolutely terrified that she would say no.

"I'm doing better, now that I'm with you," she said, making me blush a dark shade of crimson.

We walked to my dorm together. Angie and Eliza loved Maria. We had been like our own little clique in High School.

I opened the door and gestured for her to sit on the bed. I sat with her and we began to talk about recent happenings.

"So," she said. "Got any new friends?"

"Actually, yeah," I said. "His name is Alex. He has a hard crush on John, who just so happens to be his roommate. I ship it."

She laughed. God, I love that laugh.

"We need to get coffee sometime," she said. "Seriously. We need to catch up."

I grinned. "Hell yeah, we do!"

She planted a quick kiss on my cheek as she stood up. "Well, I have to leave," she said. "I need to get to my classes. I love you, babe!"

I stood up and hugged her. "Love you too, beautiful."

And then she walked through the door.
