After the three were out of sight, Denmark looked back at me, confused.
"What the hell?!" He whisper-yelled in my direction.
"What?" I said in confusion. "I already told you that I'm not allowing you anywhere near a GDP."
He walked over to me in a huff. His muscles were tense. "Can't you just think of your own well-being for once!"
"Keep it down. And I could say the same to you." He was getting loud and I didn't want anyone to hear us. Denmark came into the small building and pushed my shoulders back a little. Although it didn't hurt, it frightened me. The only time he's ever been violent towards me was when we were in wars on opposite sides. I think the infection was starting to get to his mind.
"I will not keep it down! You. Need. Help." He said matter-of-factly.
"Think about Iceland, Mathias. Don't you think we should prioritize finding him more?" I tried to calm him down. I felt like the longer he stayed in this state, the easier it would be for him to become out of control and lose his humanity.
"Iceland is probably dead!" No words were said after that. I was completely taken aback. I pushed that one thought out of my mind and here it was being shouted at me. Alarms in my mind started going off. I saw Mathias' face as he realized what he just said. I think he tried to apologize, but the only thing I could hear was my pounding heartbeat. I felt pressure on my back once I had reached the wall, even though I didn't realize that I had been walking backwards. A few minutes went by before I could say something.
"W-why would you... why would you say that...?" My words were slow and unbelieving. I think he was crying from realizing that he couldn't control himself. I kept repeating "he's just upset. Iceland is okay. He's just upset. Iceland. Is. Okay." in my mind to calm down. The container that I was holding fell out of my hand and rolled on the floor, stopping when it ran into Denmarks foot.
"I'm sorry. Norge, you know I didn't mean it..." he said, though it was quiet to me. I wanted to reassure him that I was okay, but my mouth couldn't make words. Denmark took a few steps closer to me and reached his right hand out slightly. We were about to hug, when a gunshot rang out and further shattered a mirror in the house.
Rebels; one of the groups we talked to on the way here said something about them. Denmark ducked behind the wall, and pulled me down with him.

Hey, I know that this is a shorter chapter than I normally do, but I was having writers block and I also think that this """""cliff hanger""""" is a good place publish...
