After a while, we were in the middle of nowhere.
Callie and Koko had fallen asleep.
That was convenient for Miku, because they didn't know about Pawrawl....yet.
They had to find out eventually though, but that wasn't my problem.
An hour or two passed, and this next part is unexplainable.
I switched seats with Callie, so she and Koko could sleep in the back, while I helped Miku.
Phix eventually got tired, and paused in a tree-surrounded area.
I was about to jump off, but Miku stopped me.
"There will be no stopping, on this journey." He suddenly said.
I was about to say something, but he took a strange object from his pocket.
It was 7 thin and small tubes connected together to form a whistle that fit in his palm.
Each tube was a different size, each one a little shorter than the previous.
The entire whistle, was an oaky brown color, with a charm on the end of the longest tube.
He held the whistle in the air, and blew.
The simple note filled the silence of the forest, and danced through the air.
The note echoed after he stopped, repeating over and over.
Suddenly, a loud shriek was heard.
I looked up to the sky, surrounded by tall Amnestial trees.
I saw nothing, but from the sky we heard an occasional squawk.
From the tallest tree, to another tree.
The leaves and branches shook.
I focused on a shaking branch, squinting to find the source of the squawking.
I thought I could almost make out the shape of a...bird?
All of a sudden, the "bird" shot up into the sky.
It was huge!
It's long wings spread above us, forming a shield from the sun, making a shadow below.
It squawked again, and started to fly down to us.
It landed in front of us, making the nearby dirt form a layer of dust in the air.
We coughed and fanned the air with our hands.
As the dust faded, I couldn't believe my eyes.
There, in front of us, stood a 10 foot bird creature!
Phix looked like an ant compared to this bird.
I turned to Callie and Koko, sound asleep.
"I can't believe they slept through that!" I shouted, a little too loud.
The bird-creature shrieked, and I screamed in horror.
Shhh
Miku sent, into my head.
I turned to him, still distracted from the bird.
Before I could speak, Phix took off, carrying us towards the bird.
The bird lowered his wing for us to get on.
Oh no, I thought.
Don't worry, Miku sent.
I covered my eyes as Phix carried us onto the huge wing of the giant bird.
I heard loud flaps and felt the wind against my face.
Soon, when it was quiet, Miku sent me another mind message.
You can open your eyes now
I peeked through my fingers, and slowly removed my hands.
Nothing seemed different, except we were on the bird now.
Miku was off of Phix, sitting by the edge of the bird.
Behind me, Callie and Koko lay still asleep, cuddled with Phix.
I got off of Phix, as he lay down with Callie and Koko, joining their slumber.
My feet touched the bird's skin.
It had a weird texture, and was covered with a thin layer of fur.
I walked over to Miku, sitting down next to him.
"Hey." I greeted, sitting down.
"Sup." he asked.
"Nothing. Whatcha lookin' at?" I asked.
He pointed down toward the moving tops of trees and clouds.
My eyes widened. We were flying.
His feet dangled off the edge of the bird, freely swinging back and forth.
