Just as I finished reading the note, a loud fanfare sounded.
When it finished, the ground started to slightly vibrate.
Pebbles and small rocks bounced up and down.
The vibration became a violent shake.
It shook the ground so hard I began to lose my balance.
I leaned on the arch and ran to the cart.
When I sat down, they had already started the cart.
The cart bounced, making our butts dance in our seats.
Still, we raced forward.
But the cart started to bounce up completely off the ground and drop down, hard.
We had to stop, but the ground still shook.
The ground began to crack, and the cracks began to spread.
"Earthquake!" Shouted Koko.
We remained in the cart, covering our heads with our arms.
But soon, the ground below the cart spilt, causing the wheels to spin.
The cart started moving again, and someone had to control it.
Miku took the wheel, and Svetlana tried controlling the speed.
That left the rest of us to try to get control as well.
If I had something long, strong, and sharp, maybe I could slow the cart down.
I could stick it into the ground.
I just needed....the spear!
I climbed to the back of the cart where the spear was.
Just as I was about to grab it, a bump from the cart made it fling farther away.
I climbed to the top of the cart and.........BUMP!
I fell out of the cart, and onto the ground.
My palms and knees burned with scrapes and cuts, but luckily no major damage was done.
Getting back on my feet, the ground shook harder.
The cart disappeared from my sight, but my friends were still here.
"Great.." I said to myself.
All of a sudden, the crack spread towards us.
The ground beneath us cracked open, revealing a deep hole.
"Jump!" Shouted Callie.
Callie, Miku, and Svetlana all jumped onto a safe ground.
I jumped, and nearly fell, but luckily Callie helped me.
Just then, the other side of the ground spilt, taking my sister with it.
"Koko!!!" I screamed.
I heard her shout, I saw her fall.
I wanted to jump in. I wanted to really badly, but Callie held me back.
"I'll get her." Said Miku.
He carefully put his foot the crack and began to climb down slowly.
A few minutes later the earthquake stopped increasing, but didn't stop.
When Miku came back up I nearly died.
Koko was unconscious.
Blood. It was everywhere.
I wanted to cry. I probably did.
Callie rubbed my back, but that didn't stop the tears.
I wanted to stop everything, and go home.
I wanted to quit. But we couldn't.
I needed time to calm down.
But we didn't have time.
Suddenly from a nearby mountain, little black figures appeared.
They came closer. The figures becoming large objects.
They were human-shaped, but weren't people.
They didn't walk, they flew. They had wings. They had wheels. They were robots.
They came to kill us, I just knew it.
And I was right. Just then, one of them stuck out his arm.
His arm-shaped weapon, that is.
His arm shot out a red light. A red light that broke off a piece of rock. Some kind of laser.
Another robot did the same. His laser was green. It hit a mountain.
The mountain started to collapse.
We ran. All of us. Miku carried Koko, Callie and Svetlana carried weapons.
I carried shame, anger, hatred, and sadness.
But I still ran. I was the slowest of the team, but I didn't slow my pace.
I ran. It was all I could do.
I ran.
And I didn't stop.
