We walked up to Connie as she put her book down and got up "hey Steven!" She says hugging him I felt a ping in my heart but I pushed it deep inside "hi Connie! I brought peridot along I hope that alright!" Steven says with his sweet smile Connie looked at me like she just noticed I was there "hello.." I said trying not to look directly at her "oh hello..peridot.." I heard her say as I got a glimpse of her face she gave me a disgusted look. "Well what do you guys want to do? Hehe" Steven said nervously I guess he saw the tension between us "we could play hide and seek?" Steven says trying to be himself just making people get along..."sure!" Connie says she seems to agree with just about everything that Steven says.."what's 'hide and seek'?" I asked confusingly Connie gave me a ugly glare as Steven explained the game " so you hide from a person who is trying to find you?" I asked seeing if I was hearing correctly this game sounds like a waste of my time but if Steven wanted to play it then I'll try it.

We were getting ready to play hide and seek I didn't know what happened between peri and Connie that made them not like each other but I wanted my two best friends to get along so I decided that I would be the seeker "I will count here well you two hide!" I said a smile plastered on my face as I turned around and covered my eyes I started counting out loud "1..2..3..4.." and so on shortly after I heard little footsteps scurry away. I counted up to 25 and started looking around "peri? Connie? Where are you?" I said smiling as I looked under a warn out truck then I heard a bit yelling that sounded like peridot "no!! Give that back you clod!!!" I heard the voice that sounded like peridot come from a back corner of the barn I walked towards the noice and saw something that hurt me before I was seen I hid and listened to what was happening, hoping what I was seeing was fake.

Steven started counting and Connie started walking away I walked behind her into the barn to find a spot to hide. I saw a I saw a pile of paint cans that formed a wall in the back corner I quickly and quietly ran over to it and Kneeled behind them I saw Connie hide behind some boxes a little bit behind me giving me looks I ignored them until I felt her put her hand in my secret pocket and pull out the letter I wrote to Steven "hey give that back!" I said trying to be quiet at first "no it was hanging out of your pocket and it said to Steven so I'm reading it!" She said coldly as she opened the neatly folded paper "no!! Give that back you clod!!!" I said but she didn't listen to me as she continued to read the letter I blushed I ran towards her and reached for the note as soon as she was done reading it. She put it just out of my reach and pushed me to the ground " you were planing on giving this to Steven? Ha you dumb alien freak he doesn't feel that was towards you! None of the gems are about you freak!And you won't be giving him this." She said evilly as she ripped up the note and let it fall to the ground I started feeling my eyes getting watery then my sad/mad expression changed as I saw Steven standing in front of me and Connie I quickly got up off the floor and I saw that Connie had a very shocked face "s-Steven l-" Connie tryed to say but Steven cut her off "all I wanted to do was get you guys to be friends..Connie..I thought I knew you.. but the you I knew would never do that to my friend!" He said sadly looking at me I could see a tear in his eye as he turned back to Connie "s-Steven I'm s-sorry.." she said "Connie..I think it would be best if you leave.." Steven says looking away "I'm sorry..." Connie says softly as she left. "Are you ok?" I heard Steven ask with a small smile "y-yeah..I'm fine!" I said hugging him letting my few tears I had in my eyes out I was glad that he stopped her but I thought about what she said Steven will never love some alien freak like you it played over and over in my head did the gems actually care for me? I asked myself Steven put his hand under my chin and we made eye contact and he wiped my tears away " please don't cry..you know nothing she said was true right?" Steven asked with a faint blush " I d-don't know anymore.." I say still thinking did anyone care for me? Steven seems like he does but he's nice to everyone.."peridot.." Steven said leaning in he kissed me I was shocked at first but kissed back shortly after then we parted " let's get back to the temple." Steven said blushing as he took my hand in his " r-right!" I said back also blushing as he held me hand we walked to the temple the whole way thinking the whole way about all the events that happened not to long ago when we got to the temple we sat down and I thought about the note that laid in pieces on the barn floor how am I going to tell him now?! I asked myself I was rethinking about if I should tell him or not I worked up all my confidence to right that note without thinking twice but now..uhh this is to much to think about right now I think to myself as I laid down on the couch and closed my eyes. I was almost asleep when I felt warm strong hands rap around me and pick me up carefully I opened my eyes a bit to see Steven carrying me to his room and gently putting me down " goodnight dot." I heard him say before I drifted away into the nothingness of my mind.
