A Little Lost

Chapter 4

I awoke and turned to my side. My door opened and then closed quietly. I turned and sat up. It was Gabe. He looked up and saw I was awake.

" Oh I'm sorry, did I wake you?" I shook my head. He walked over and set some water on the table. I smiled and picked it up and took a drink. I held it in my hands and then asked

" What time is it?"

He said " Around 3:30. "

" So then everyone's home now aren't they? "

He nodded and I said " Then time to tell everyone I'm feeling better. " He raised and eye brow.

"Are you sure about that? " he asked.

" No, but I want to see them." He didn't argue. He held out his hand as I pulled the covers back. I smiled and took his hand and he pulled me up. I faltered a bit but he keep me steady. I walked forward and he opened the door and followed me out into the hall. The door closed with a soft click. I reached the top of the stairs and took a step. Then another. I was past the first two steps when I felt something push me I turned and saw Gabe reaching out. I felt my body falling. I closed my eyes and felt arms wrap around me and we fell down the stairs. I didn't feel a stair hit me but from who was holding me their body jolted every which way. Then finally after what seemed like a never ending fall. We came to a stop and the arms peeled away from me and I opened my eyes and rolled off of the person to catch me.

"Rebecca!!!" I heard even though my head was spinning. The world seem to move even when I sat still.

" I'm fine!" I called back.

" Good." Said the man who was laying on the floor.

" Who are you?" I asked feeling the world starting to come to a stop. I opened my eyes and looked down at him. His hair was brown with curls every which way. His eyes were green with brown around the pupil. He was tan and tall. He smiled and said

" My name is Austin, I'm here with Gabe." I nodded and heard Gabe descend from the stairs and came to my side.

" Are you sure you are alright? Nothing hurts? Nothing broken?" I shook my head and Austin sat up.

" Gabe she's fine. I took all of the blows. See? Not a scratch. Just shaken up I'd say. She had one of the Shadow Clan sent to harm her. " Gabe nodded.

" I tried to stay be hind her and keep an eye out but I turned cause something moved behind me then the wind blew past me and then I saw her begin to fall. Thanks for saving her." Austin smiled and said

" No problem. It's in the job as a friend help with a charge. And from the looks of this one. She's going to need us to stick around. She is cute. Where did you get a charge like this?"

My eyes widened and I blushed. I stood up and began to walk away. Austin grabbed my arm and said " Don't take that in the wrong way. I'm going to apologize for my rude behavior. I usually don't know what to say to such a pretty woman I usually don't know how to act. Forgive me?"

I looked in his eyes and he stared at me. I blushed more and nodded looking away. He let me go and I mumbled an excuse and walked off to the kitchen. I leaned against the door and felt my heart beating rapidly. After a moment I shook all thoughts from my mind and went to the fridge. I opened the door and saw that most of the milk gone. I reached for a can and opened it. I took a sip and turned around. I looked up and saw my father standing there. He was grinning a wild grin from ear to ear. His eyes were blood shot and he had his fangs out. I dropped my can and watched it roll to his feet.

" Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Rebecca. Rebecca. Rebecca. How is my little girl? All grown up. You still smell the same. Like sugar and candy." My eyes widened and I took a step back. His eyes followed me like I was his next meal and he was only playing a game with me. My insides turned and I felt sick. He cocked his head to the side and began walking forward. I backed up till I hit the fridge and he followed me until he was inches from me. He leaned in close and I could feel his breathing on my neck as he whispered to me

" I have drove my self mad wondering what you taste like. May I have a bite sweet Becca? Don't make me take it by force. All I want is a little nibble." I pulled away and felt something across my side then I felt pain. I looked down an saw he clawed me. I looked back up and saw him smile. I fell to my knees and my back slamed against the counter. I looked up as he towered over me. Then he was gone. I looked across the room and saw Gabe had him against the wall. Austin was at my side.

" Damn, Is there ever a break!" he looked and saw the cuts and his eyes changed. They changed more like a wolfs then he leaned over and tilted my neck to the side. I couldn't fight back. I was losing consciousness from the loss of blood.

" Austin!" Gabe yelled from across the room. Austin snapped back and shook his head. He gently lifted me up and carried me to the living room. There was crashing from the kitchen then my Father joined us in the living room.

" Hand her over. " he howled. His eyes changing yellow. Austin sat me down and stood up and turned to face my father.

"I don't think so." He said. As he lunged at my father. My father dodged and hit Austin. And Austin flew across the room. He landed on the couch and the legs gave out. My Father began walking over to me.

" Becca come to daddy."

I moved the best I could away. Gabe stumbled out of the kitchen and jumped on his back. He tried to shake Gabe off. He clawed at his back but he couldn't reach. Then Austin got up and ran across the room and Gabe got off as Austin jabbed his hand threw my father. My Father stopped in his tracks and spit out blood. He looked at Austin and said " You may stop me but you can't stop Him." then his body slumped. Austin pulled his hand back and my Fathers heart with it. I looked down and saw I was laying in a pool of blood. Then I felt a warm tingly feeling come from my side and I looked down. The cut was healing. The pain began to recede. And I was laying there in a pool of blood with my Father laying there dead after trying to kill me. And Austin and Gabe standing over me. I looked up scared out of my mind. They looked at each other and said in unison

" This just got more interesting." I then blacked out.
