A Little Lost

Chapter 24 Gabe POV

" Sir, Gabe is here to see you."

" Send him in." I heard as the scuffle of feet came to the door and it opened a small bald man. He looked me up and down then said

" You can come in." As he opened the door. I nodded and said thanks as I walked in past him.

" May I take your coat? And can I get you anything?"

" No thanks. I'll keep it on. I'm not staying long." He nodded.

" As you wish sir."

I walked to the living room of the huge house.

" Gabe! Been a long time hasn't it? What brings you by?"

" Hey. Just came to see if you could do me a favor Chris." I said taking the chair across form him. He chuckled.

" Anything my friend."

" Come with me and let's get out of the Association. Austin has agreed and I didn't want to leave you behind." He paused.

" I don't know..." He said tapping his chin.

" You don't have to pick now. Take your time. Just know I didn't forget about you." I said standing up. He nodded and waved his hand.

" I'll tell you what I pick in a week. Can you wait that long?"

" I can. Just when you can."

He nodded and I left. I walked out the front door and a black car pulled up. I saw a girl hop out and walk up the stairs. She looked up.

" Hi." She said passing me.

" Hi." I said moving down the stairs past her. Then I heard the thunder clap over head and sighed as it started to rain. I smiled. Looks like I'm jogging back home. Home. I repeated liking the sound in my head. I picked up my pace and started on my jog home.
