A Little Lost

Chapter 29

I took the kids to Makayla's and put them to bed. I looked at their three sleeping heads. I closed the spare room and went to the living room.

" They're asleep." I said plopping down on Makayla's couch. She nodded and asked

" Are you sure you're ready for this?"

" Yes. As long as she lives they will never be safe." I said looking back to the spare room.

" They'll be fine. I have a spell over the house and it can't be damaged. Plus guards everywhere." I nodded and stood up.

" If I don't make it." I said

" Hush now! Don't talk like that!" She said frowning.

" I said if I don't. But I want you to keep them till Xavier or Gabe comes for them." I said looking down at her. She stopped then said

" Okay. But you better come back here." I nodded.

" I'm going to go now." I said and turned to leave.

" Bye." She called.

" I'll be back soon." I said as I closed the door. Gabe was in the car and I got in and closed the door.

" Go." I said and started crying.

" Rebecca.." He said then paused.

" We'll make it. I know we will." I only nodded and he accelerated.

We showed up at the house. I walked in to see some people I didn't know. Xavier came over and said

" Don't worry. I called in some friends." I nodded and went to my room. I closed the door and got changed for battle. I was done in ten minutes. I had knifes all over my body and a bow and some arrows. A machete on my waist and stakes lined up all the way around my hips. Gabe walked in and paused.

" Well damn." He said looking at me. " You don't play."

" Is it time?" I asked pulling my hair back.

" Yeah. It is." He said holding out his hand. I took it and he pulled me from my room and walked me the opposite way.

" Where are we going?" I asked.

" You'll see." He said and he stopped in the hall and pressed the bored on the wall. It opened to reveal another secret staircase.

" Come on." He said gently pulling me down. I followed and saw Xavier, Sasha, Dustin, and Chris standing at a table.

" She's here." Gabe said and we walked into the light.

" Alright. Rebecca, listen. We'll clear a path straight to your mother and you can handle her. Gabe and Sasha will make sure you get there safe and sound. Alright?" Xavier asked.

" Understood." I said and nodded.

" We'll all walk in at once and we'll protect Rebecca no matter what. Dustin you'll lead us in and Chris will take it from there." They nodded. " Every knows their place. Now let's get going." Xavier finished as he grabbed his gear and loaded up. Everyone nodded and I walked back up the stairs. Dustin trailed behind me and when we reached the top he kissed me. He pulled back.

" In case this all goes to hell." He said and walked down the hall. I stood there then followed behind him. We reached the living room and everyone stood up and followed us. We opened the door and ran into the night. I glanced up at the sky. ' I love you all. Please be safe.' I thought to the little ones. I started crying. I wiped my eyes as Gabe and Sasha showed up to my side. I nodded to them and we ran to kill my mother.
