Fear filled every single cell in my body, I was pretty sure he could smell it seeping out of my pores. His stare made me klutzy and as I took a step back my phone slipped from my shaken non-functional fingers, hitting the floor with a loud thud. How could I have been so stupid? I practically waltzed right into his trap.

"What have you done with Melanie?" I asked completely ignoring his remark. I only stopped backing up once my behind hit the edge of a table. After which I scurried to my left and stood behind another one so that there was at least something separating us. For now.

"Melanie? Why would you think I did something to her?" Zayn smiled innocently putting his hands up in surrender.

I squinted at him through the dim light that shone through the windows. Keeping my eyes fixed on his dark figure, my fingers clutched the edge of the table before me like my life depended on it. I would push it his way should he try anything funny.

"This is between us. Don't harm her, she has nothing to do with us," I demand in a firm voice that honestly surprises me.

"I agree completely. But I must say I find it amusing that you think you call the shots here. Your words mean nothing Rosalie. I will do as I please," He grinned mischievously and then took a step forward and then another.

"If I chose to rip Melanie's pretty little head off I would without a second thought," he continued. "And you know as well as I do, there's absolutely nothing you can do about it."

"Why? Why are you doing this to me?" I whimpered feeling absolutely defeated. My hands were trembling so much I could feel the table shaking. "Don't you have someone else to torment? Someone who deserves this punishment way more than I do?"

"Nope, just you."

"What kind of vampire are you?" I asked rhetorically. Why was he so hell bent on making my life miserable?

"Hmmm let me see. A loyal one?" He smirked, raising his eyebrows at me.

Was he seriously teasing me right now? I could feel my blood boil at his nonchalance.

"What do you want with me?" I asked him angrily. "If you're going to kill me then just do it already." I obviously didn't mean that but the words just tumbled out of my mouth in a fit of anger. A fit that only lasted a few seconds.

As he stood across from me with his fingers placed on the side exactly opposite from mine I could feel my heart hammer furiously against my rib cage. In my mind I was praying he would just stay where he was.

He scoffed at my words and leaned in getting a little too close for comfort. "Now where's the fun in that? I enjoy our little cat and mouse games a little too much for it to end so quickly and besides I thought you enjoyed my company?" He placed his hand over his chest feigning hurt which made me want to roll my eyes.

"No," I said plainly.

"Aww come on now. Why so serious Rosalie? You're hurting my feelings here. After all the things I've done for you, don't you think you should be a little more grateful?"

"Grateful? Are you kidding me? You've caused me so much pain! I can't sleep properly, I haven't eaten properly, my school life's a mess!" I shouted, the frustration clear in my voice.

He simply rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over one another. "Typical human, always focusing on the negative side of things."

"You're insane if you think you've helped me!" I shriek and then shove the table against him. I needed to get out of here and away from this deluded creature.

You would think that my attempt would have made at least a bit of an impact. The table knocked against him and then ricocheted back towards me. It was like he was made of rock or something. I on the other hand stumbled backwards making him chuckle loudly at my expense.
