The cold hand traced my skin from my shoulder to my hands where it wrapped itself around my wrists. In a vice like grip it pulled my struggling hands behind my back and then I felt a firm chest press me up against the door.
I could feel it's ice cold breath on my neck causing goosebumps to erupt in its wake. My heart was beating at the speed of a race car, a stark contrast to the chest pressed up against me. Aside from the slow rising and falling of its chest, I could feel no heart beat.
"Hmmm," it moaned against me and my body stiffened when I felt a pair of lips lightly touch my neck.
"Zayn?" I whimpered, unsure if I wanted an answer to my question because if it wasn't him I would wet myself right there and then.
It left a trail of light kisses from the side of my neck all the way up to my ear. I shivered at the contact.
"He's cheating Rosalie."
This time the voice was much clearer and there was no mistaking whom it belonged to. I gasped in response and was about to spout all the insults in the English dictionary I could think of but as soon as I opened my mouth to speak I felt his weight being lifted off me and my hands were released.
I quickly turned around expecting to see a smirking Zayn but instead all I saw was an empty park. What was up with him and his disappearing acts? Frustration ate at me as I stood there in silence waiting for him to reappear and scare the crap out of me.
The back door lights suddenly switched on causing me to jump and then after waiting for a few more minutes I decided to try the door again. Ironically this time it opened.
As soon as I opened it I saw a waiter sigh in relief and point at me.
"She's over here," he said to someone else.
"Where?" I heard my mothers frantic voice and then I saw her walk in from the restaurant dining hall. "Oh my God Rosalie where have you been? We have been worried sick."
What? I couldn't have been gone for that long. "I went to the washroom and then decided I needed some fresh air."
I took a step towards her as she rushed forward and hugged me like there was no tomorrow.
"You were gone for almost thirty minutes! Never do that again Rosalie! I nearly had a heart attack thinking of all the possible things that could have happened to you," She scolded while she held me in a tight embrace.
A few waiters were standing behind us and watching the show. They all looked relieved and I wondered if my parents had made a really big commotion about me disappearing. That would have been so embarrassing.
"Mum it's no big deal. I just went out for some fresh air," I sighed. In my opinion they were being a tad too dramatic about this. I mean a vampire literally has permission to come into our house as and when he likes and here they were freaking out about me going missing for a few minutes. If they were worried for my safety they should have started feeling that way last week when I told them about my broken window.
"Nonsense. I never want you to do something like that again, you hear me? Promise me you won't do such a stupid thing again. With all the murders going on in the city I would have thought you'd be more careful," she snapped and then finally let go of me.
"Come on, we're leaving now," she said firmly and then she held my hand and walked out of the restaurant.
We stood in the driveway and I remained silent as she called my dad who had apparently paid the bill and then gone off to look for me in his car.
He arrived soon after and I could see his expression through the car window as he looked my way. He didn't look happy.
I crossed my arms over each other and huffed silently as I stared out the window. The whole journey back to our suburb seemed longer than usual as I listened to lecture after lecture from my parents.
