Chapter 10: The Secret is Out

Caution: THE FLUFFY IS UPON US >.<

"Liz?" a familiar voice chirped.

Kid's POV

"What's taking them so long," I complained.

"Well maybe they found a giraffe and they have no idea how to move it," Patty giggled.

"Patty, this is serious, something isn't right," as i finished i heard a yelp coming from the halls.

"Patty, did you hear that," i asked her. She then nodded with a concerned facial expression. Since Stein wasn't here yet, both me and Patty went to explore. We then heard some people talk coming from the abandoned halls.

"Kiddo, im scared," Patty yelped as she hid behind me.

"Don't worry there aren't any ghosts, and since when did you ever get scared," i arched a brow.

"Ever sinced i watched Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones," she shivered as we got closer.

"Are you kidding me, that movie was hilarious," i exclaimed.

"Really, i didn't see you laugh," she placed both her hands on her hips.

"Shh, Patty," i told her hiding behind a corner.

"Your a cheater and a liar," i heard someone cough out.

"Well life's not fair so your gonna have to deal with it," a voice said, it kind if sounded like Liz. As i turned the corner telling Patty to stay where she was at. When i turned the corner, i found ____ on the floor with a crack on the wall. Liz was hovering over her with a guy with similar features stood aside her. He had his arm around her like it was his property. I warned Liz, but i guess she needs to be taught a lesson.

Reader's POV

You looked up to see Kid standing before Liz's eyes.

"Kid it's not what it looks like," Liz stuttered.

"I thought i warned you no more jealousy and also your cheating on me, we're through," Kid calmly said.

"Kid i think you should think twice about this," Liz hesitated.

"I already did, no, i thought 8 times in total," Kid replied. Kid then looked at you for a few seconds until he crouched down to your level. He then picked you up bridal style and walked away from Liz. He then stopped his tracks and said something.

"I assume you shot her in the ankle as well, me and you are gonna have a little talk with my father later."

"Kid, my head," you softly spoke.

"Shh, i'm gonna take you to Nygus, for now just rest," Kid calmly said.

Everything became quiet. You heard the muffled noises from Patty and Kid. After that you were blacked out.

~Some Hours Later~

You woke up with a bad headache. You sat up clutching your head as you felt bandages on your skull. You looked around to see Kid sitting on a chair next to the bed you were on. He was looking down twidling with his thumbs.

"K-Kid," you stutter out. He quickly looks up and attacks you with a hug.

"I'm so glad that your ok," he exclaims on the verge of crying.

"Glad to see your awake," a woman came in covered in bandages.

"I'm guessing your Nygus," you smiled.

"Correct, now just continue to rest, you've been excused today as well," she said while grabbing an ice pack. You layed back down as Kid sat back down.

"So you broke up with Liz," you asked softly.

"What was i suppose to do, she was cheating on me," he said calmly while looking towards the ground.

Then there was a moment of silence until the bell dinged. As soon as it did, you heard many footsteps running towards the dispensary. Just as you sat up once again, the door was bursted by a bluenette and a blonde.

"____ ARE YOU OK," they exclaimed in unison.

"Guys all that happened was that my head hit the wall, i'm fine," you said while raising yout hands to calm them.

"Well, it did leave a crack in the wall, it was possible that your skull could have cracked," Kid stated standing up.

"Well, i guess you guys can say goodbye, ____ here needs to stay the night," Nygus said writing in a clipboard.

"I'll stay, in case she needs anything," Kid quickly said.

'Did i hear that correctly', you thought to yourself. Everyone then left and you and Kid were alone.

"You finally feeling better," he asked curiously.

"I have a bit of a headache right now buts its not that serious," you chuckled a bit.

"Here let me help," Kid then stood up and walked over to you. He then cupped both your cheeks and kissed your forehead. After that, you matched Soul's eye color, you were blushing like crazy. He then paused for a sec realizing what he did and walked outside to regain the process.

Kid's POV

What did i just do? What is going on with me? Ever since ____ came back i've been getting strange feelings. Is it that love thing? It's me and Liz all over again. Im pretty sure shinigami's cant have that real feeling, i wouldv'e had a mother, but instead, i'm just part of a soul. I don't know what got over me that day. One day im out cold, next thing i knew i was dating Liz, strange. After i recollected myself, i returned back to _____. It looks like i took longer than i thought. When i returned, ____ was out like a light. I came up to her and tucked her in more. I sat in the seat next to the bed. A strand of hair was in her face and it looked like it was bothering her. I closed in and placed the strand behind her ear. I then realized i had to talk to my father about Liz. I quickly wrote a letter and placed it at the nightstand in the nurses office. And with that, i was on my way. The halls were darkened a bit so i rushed to get to the Death Room. As i was walking down the array of gullitones, my father looked quite bored and such.

"Father," and with that, a smile crept behind his mask.

"Hiya Kiddo, what's up, need anything," my father exclaimed comically.

"Yes, i would like to talk to you about one of my pistols, Liz. Recently she has been causing serious injuries, like the bullet in her ankle, and also i had to break up with her since she has been cheating on me," i said looking at the ground.

"Kid, you weren't really dating her in the first place," my eyes widend with shock.

"Shinigami's are specifically made to keep the world in peace, not for love, i had to test out a new experiment for Stein and so i tested it out on you just in case, somehow you went all crazy, started to date Liz, and finally went with the flow," my father explained.

"But why me, what do you mean 'just in case'," i said almost breathless.

"Well Shinigami's can't die so i thought i would test it out on a person other than me," he explained more. 'My father is human as well, he's just afraid of the world', i thought with anger. I then turned around and walked back to the office. As i walked back i thought over some stuff.

'Is that why i'm so awkward all the time?'

I blew a strand of hair out of my face and turned the doorknob. I peeked in and looked around. _____ was looking out the window, she must of heard the door creak and she turned around. I smiled.

"I've been waiting for that smile for quite a while," she smiled back.

"We have school tomorrow, you should probably get some sleep," i walked over to her. As she got situated into bed, i started to walk towards the door until i felt something warm on my wrist.

"Could you maybe sit in the chair until i fully sleep," she whispered. I nodded and sat in the chair. She smiled softly and started to shut her eyes. I placed my elbow on the arm of the chair with my head resting on my hand. After a while i started to shut my eyes. I tried to stay awake but no victory occurred. I was out like a light.
