Chapter 20: A Suicidal Mission

The sun had risen, and your eyes had stained. You pulled your covers over your head and played games on your phone, the same way Soul did with your heart.

"Hey (Y/N)? C'mon get ready, we have school today," Hiro knocked on the door.

"I'm going to take a sick day and don't bother trying to unlock this door, I've stolen all the keys," you mumbled into your pillow.

"Fine, but you have to come tomor--."

"No I don't, I can just drop out of school." Hiro sighed at your new attitude, you were truly damaged.

"Well, take care at least? I made you breakfast in case you decide to get out of bed, and don't do anything stupid okay?," and with that, the other side of the door silenced, Hiro had left. You sat up, making the covers fall, and threw you legs over the side of the bed. You unlocked the door and went over to the table to find breakfast and a note.

"Dear (Y/N),

Remember what Kid said, stop being sad over a guy who can't see your full potential, and yes, I did hear, like, everybody did. Anyways, I'm your big brother (theoretically speaking) and I have to protect you from harm. Don't worry I'll tell Soul for you that you don't want him anymore, everybody can read it in your eyes, even if tears are blocking the view. Listen I love you like family, and I don't want to see what's left of it to go to waste, please, smile. You should feel proud to wear such a pretty smile,

Anyways, feel better, you need it in your health.

'Big brother huh? You're nothing like him, and I'm thankful for that,' you thought putting the note down. You walked to your closet and searched for an outfit that was almost like camo, but this one will blend in the crowd.

You grabbed your hoodie and keys and ran out the door to the DWMA. The long flight of stairs wasn't a bother considering you already summoned Shellra. Once on the ground again, you roamed the crowded halls in search for the mission board. You found one suited just for you.

'A four-star meister mission? Challenge accepted,' you thought smiling and walking to the lady in the window. She asked for your card and luckily, you made a similar one that looked like you were a four-star meister. She put a 'Working' sign on the mission and gave you a thumbs up, for good luck.

You scurried down the stairs into the forest, where your mission layed. The forest was foggy, making it impossible to see straight. You took off the bandages, revealing your worm-like tatoos.

"I choose you, Magic Worm," you eyes glowed as well as your tatoos. Black smoke appeared out of your hand. More and more came out, which then took the form of a giant worm. Sure your brother could summon the same magic as you, but you could talk to them unlike him.

"Long time no see, eh (Y/N)?" The raspy voiced worm asked.

"Just shut up, I only need you for a sec, as bait," you smiled sinisterly.

"Huh?"

"On behalf of the greek kishin Minotour, I summon thee, cast me away to another world which will make me happy yet again," you spoke as your worm started to freak out at the ground shaking. The ground cracked and shook just the same as an earthquake. The tears from your eyes shined as you thought of everybody who was there for you when the times got tough. You thought of Hiro, Patty, Kid, your mother...

Your eyes shot open at the thought of her. Even if she was strict, you loved her. No mother could ever be replaced with another. You stopped summoning the wanted kishin, but it was too late. The Minotour rose from the ground, eyes glowed bloody red as it growled at the seems.

You stared at the atrocious monster. You roared with all its might as it glanced at you. You shot your katana blade out of your wrist and sliced at its torso. Not even a scratch was made on the beast.

"(Y/N)! I TOLD YOU TO NOT DO ANYTHING STUPID!" A male voice was heard in the distance. You turned around to see Hiro and Kid running at you. As soon as you turn to face the beast, it swung at you with full force, throwing against a tree. After that, you blacked out.

Hiro's POV

I stormed through the hallways, looking for that albino jerk. Until I saw Maka by his locker.

"HEY SOUL!" I spoke with so much fury.

"Oh uh hey Hi--," and that was all I allowed him to say until I punched his jaw.

"SOUL," Maka exclaimed.

"Yo what the hell is wrong with you man," he asked clutching his almost fractured jaw.

"You should be asking that yourself, (Y/N) trusted you, and you just let her fall off the edge, she doesn't want to see you again," my eyes showed red even though they were still their normal teal.

"It ain't my problem if she saw me and Maka, and I don't care cause cool guys can't be stuck to one chick, they need a variety," Soul chuckled with disgust.

I had lost it. I pounced on him, pulling my fist back until a force stopped me. I looked back to see Kid holding my wrist.

"Stop, he's not worth the time," Kid calmly said as he helped me up.
"We need to find (Y/N), I heard rumours that she took on a four-star meister mission."

"That's impossible, she's at home in her room," I spoke trembling a bit.

"Well she's not there, I sent Liz to check and the apartment was deserted except for Excalibur dancing, I still don't understand why you kept him," Kid spoke hurrying out the doors.

"But how were you able to get into the apartment?"

"She just used a bobby pin."

"Man I need ADT," I chuckled a bit.

"This isn't the time to chuckle, (Y/N) could be in trouble!" Kid looked back at me. We both hurried into the nearby forest just outside the city. It was fogged up making it difficult to see anything. Just out of no where, a loud roar boomed through the forest.

"(Y/N)?" I widend my eyes running towards where the sound was coming from. I saw (Y/N) in the distance even if it was foggy, I knew it was her.

"(Y/N)! I TOLD YOU TO NOT DO ANYTHING STUPID!" I had to yell out something. She looked back with relieved eyes, glad to see me and Kid.

But...

That was all I could think of just as she turned back to look at the kishin. It swung at her, as her cranium made cold hard contact on a nearby tree. With that kind of force, she could be dead but I ran to her.

"HIRO GET BACK HERE! IT'S TOO DANGEROUS," Kid yelled as he fought the giant Minotour.

'I don't care, as long as I die by my sister, I'll be fine,' I thought crouchivg down next to (Y/N) placing her head on my lap.

"(Y/N), don't worry you'll be okay, please come back," tears rolled off my cheeks onto (Y/N)'s forehead.

"Hiro, carry (Y/N) and let's get out of here, I've managed to knock the kishin out and I don't know when it'll come to," Kid began to run. I scooped my knocked out partner up and hurried to the DWMA.
