"You have to tell me an explanation. Or I'm leaving this car." I said seriously.
Tears were still running down my face from what just happened.
I'm i the cause of all this?
"Okay..okay...." He said taking a deep sigh.
"Your parents belonged to the GA, or gift association, before they had you. They made a promise that the first child they had would be given a gift to be tested on later. They implanted you with your gift the moment you were born, but you wouldn't know it until the day you turned 17. What you just saw in there was them coming back to get you. Your parents didn't want to give you up because they found out what they really do with you when the take you for a week. They don't give you back. They quit there jobs at GA, but they still wanted you. You still had a gift. Gift that they wanted really bad." He said staring out the window in front of him.
My parents they betrayed me.
"Did they even...want me?" Said with more tears running down my cheeks.
"They wanted you more than anything out there. They died for your safety. My parents and your parents gave me the job to protect you. And that's exactly what I'm going to do." His jaw clenched.
No. Not his parents too.
"Jason...your parents..didn't.. Die, did they?" I asked looking at him.
"Unfortunately, yes they did. But I'm keeping my promise. I know they know I loved them, and they loved me. Same with your parents."he said.
He looked at me.
"I'm keeping you away from those insane people who think that they can take whatever they want. I need to protect you." He said.
I turned back forward letting all of this sink in.
I'm so sorry mom, and dad.
I just watched my parents die. I'm never going to hear there laughs.
I'm never going to feel there hugs, kisses, nothing.
I let out a sob, and Jason put his hand on mine.
"Hey it's okay. Your going to get through this. I'm never going to let them hurt you. But..you should get some sleep. You need it Riley."
I nodded, and turned over in my seat.
Why is this happening to me?
I slowly fell to sleep.
****nightmare****
Me and Jason were walking down a street just talking.
Well kind of him just talking.
I tried talking back but nothing came out.
Which wasn't really a bad thing I guess, because he was still making me smile.
I turned to look in the street, but Jason stopped talking.
I spun around to find a men in a suit in tie, hold Jason at gun point.
I tried talking, yelling, screaming, but nothing was coming out.
I closed my eyes tightly, and heard a gun shot.
****end of nightmare****
As my eyes shot open, Jason was carrying me bridal style.
He notice, and immediately set me down on my feet.
I fell to my knees breathing heavily, running a hand through my hair.
Jason sat down with him holding me in his arms trying to calm me down.
"It's okay, just a nightmare. I'm not going to let anyone touch you. Just calm down..it's okay Riley." He said rubbing circles around my back.
"I can't calm down. I'm the reason my parents and your parents died."
Jason pulled me away from his chest so he could look in my eyes.
"Do not blame that on yourself Riley. You were not. Those insane people think they can take whatever they want. But the can't. Your parents know you didn't mean for this all to happen. It's okay."
We say there for another minute, but then Jason pulled me up.
"Come on let's go in the hotel. You need some sleep."
I wiped my eyes, and looked at my surroundings.
Oh. Were at a hotel.
That's new.
We walked into the hotel, and Jason checked in at the lobby.
We made our way up to our room, and Jason let me in.
The first thing that caught my eye when we walked in made my jaw drop.
There's one bed.
