****Jason’s POV****
You never wonder how you die, who you’ll die by, how you will, or what will happen after. I’m just glad I got to hold her while I did go to the other side. I floated out of my physical body and watched as Riley soon figured out that I was gone. It killed me that I couldn’t ease her pain, and tell her that I was okay. I felt her tear drop on my cheek as she gently kissed the sides of my cheeks.
I kept floating up through the old houses roof. Soon enough I could see the whole city where the house was stranded, I began to turn as I saw the brightest light I’ve ever seen in my life. I floated into it, but got abruptly stopped halfway into it.
“Uh… hello?” I spoke. My voice came out echoed.
I shadowy figure stalked towards me. The closer it got, I saw it had beautiful wings. It was draped in white fabric so long that you couldn’t see its feet. I squinted to try to see if this figure had a face that I would recognize.
It got about ten feet away from me, and I knew the face. It wrapped its arms around me squeezing tightly, and pulling back with a kiss on my cheek.
“Mom.” My voice came out soft as I was very shocked.
She smiled at me, and then turned to one of the corners of the light. Another figure came out of the white mist, well actually three figures as I studied them harder.
“Dad!” I shouted as he gave me a big father-son hug.
He pulled back, and I hugged both Mr. & Mrs. King, Riley’s parents. They both smiled at me.
“Son you don’t belong here.” My dad spoke up.
My smile slowly faded as I look at him confused.
“What?”
“It’s not your time honey.” My mom said taking my Dads hand. The King’s nodded.
“Riley might not have healed you with her hands, but her tears did.” Mrs. King spoke.
My hand made its way up to where I felt her tear drop gracefully on my cheek.
Mrs. King grabbed my hand, and pulled me into a cloud of white fog. Next thing I knew we were standing on the porch steps of the house. I heard crying, and I looked to my left to find Jake holding Riley on the grass. He was whispering to her it was going to be fine. Soothing words hoping that she would calm down. Soon enough she did, and walked over to the old pick-up truck. Before she could get any closer to the driver side of it Jake stopped her.
“Riley, where are you going?” Jakes voice was shaky.
Riley returned a pain driven smile that quickly faded, “To turn myself in.”
My heart dropped. I watched as Jake froze in his place.
He walked closer to her still shocked from what she just said, “I know that’s how you feel right now, but that isn’t the answer.”
I could tell Riley was holding back tears as she bit her lip and spoke, “Yes it is Jake. I have nothing, and no one to live for anymore. If this is what they wanted then I’d rather do this then sit around all day reliving this moment in my dreams. Good bye Jake. Take care of Faith. Treat her good.”
I was just as speechless as Jake was. I ran towards the truck, but got pulled back by Mrs. King.
I looked back at her like she was crazy.
“I have to go tell her I’m okay. I can’t let her do this!” I yelled.
“Jason she can’t see or hear you. We can only talk to our loved ones in dreams.” She spoke gracefully.
