Fire Hazard🔥🔥

Chapter 1

   "Run, No don't stop keep running what are you doing keep running."

I tripped and fell. Something hit me on the back of the head.

" Get up its spreading there goners. We need to go now. Come on let's go"

" No, I'm going to get my friends."

"Fine your loss I'm not dying in this."

"No don't leave.Please come back."

" You look terrified," Mrs.Overlook said looking very concerned.

" It was horrible all that happened the other night it was horrible."

"The other night was when?"

  Why is she asking she already knows this, all of this.
  
  " It was Tuesday."

   " Oh yeah, that was two days ago. So sad it had to happen just a day before school is starting up. Do you think you'll be able to go?"

   " Well I mean I have to. What happened that night was horrible but I can't keep fearing away from people when they ask me what happened. I was there I survived and I guess now I have to tell people about it."

" Alexis you don't have to tell anyone what you witnessed. Only the police officials. There the only people you talk to until this is released to the press.I mean the information that you just told me. You don't have to tell anyone that.You are not obligated to tell anyone. "

"Run Alexis. come on we have to go. Come on what are you doing. Just leave them there. Let's go."

" No, I have to sa-". *second explosion*

"Come on Alexis."

"I can't move."

"Come on, move away from the fire."

"I can't just leave them."

  "Alexis, did you hear a word I just said?"

  " What?"

  "Did you hear what I just said to you?"

   " Yeah, every word."

    "Really did you hear what I said?"

    " Yeah, every word of it."

   " Then what did I say?"

" Run, come on get up let's go we have to leave."

"We can't just leave them."

"We have to, come on let's go now."

"I'm not leaving all them he-" *third explosion*

     "Alexis?"

     "What?"

     "Are you listening?"

     " Yeah, I was."

     " Then what did I say?"

     " Fine, I wasn't listening."

     "  Whats up with you today, I understand that the fire was only two days ago but it wasn't your fault. All the people that died that wasn't your fault. you couldn't do anything."

    " I know it wasn't my fault."

    " Do you?"

    " I mean I didn't start the fire I know that but I could have helped so many people. But I was pulled out by Nathaniel. I wanted to help them but i-i couldn't help them." I start to cry but I don't let too many tears flow over the brim of my eyelid." I'm leaving I have a lot to do before I leave for school tomorrow."

  "OK if you need anything I'm here for you."

   " That's what they all say." I get up and walk out of the room. I walk down the stairs and get in my car. My senior year is going to be loads of fun. I think to myself.

         *Three hours later*

   As I lay in my bed practically smothering myself with my blankets. I hide under my black comforter.
    Ever since I left Mrs. Overlook office I didn't even go shopping for school which I have to get up for in eighteen hours. I sit up in my bed hoping someone's messaged me. But no one messaged me since the fire. Not even Liv or Sarena. I don't know if they're afraid to or they don't want to accidentally bring it up. They, which I'm glad, weren't there the night of the fire. They know about it but they weren't there.
   Like I said they haven't messaged me since that night to make sure I was ok. Even though I haven't gotten a message from either of them I decided to message them in a group chat. Me, Liv and Sarena have been friends for oh god since ninth grade. that's not long for some but for us, we've been going strong for quite some time now.
- Skip to the middle of the night -

"Run let's go come on we have to leave."

  "No, we have to save them come on come in with me."

   "I'm not going in Liv and Sarena are ok right?"

    " yeah"

   "Then you have nothing to worry about then."

    "I have other friends I need to go."

I run toward the building, it hasn't blown up yet. Surprisingly, I run in and see a whole bunch of bodies some not dead some motionless.

I wake up screaming. Obviously, no one ran in or anything. My dad passed away three years ago. And my gram passed away last year at 87 years old. Me and my gram had a really strong relationship. I would go to her if I couldn't talk to Liv or Sarena or Ashley. But now Ashley and I don't talk that much.
     Me and Ashley have an ok relationship. It's not as strong as it was because well one she has her own son to worry about and her husband's daughter had a baby so she's a little occupied. My mom tries to talk but I just listen to music.
   I sit up in bed tears streaming down my face. I hear banging on my door and the turning of the knob. It was my mom obviously but ever since I was thirteen my bedroom door was locked when I was in there. Whether I was sleeping or not I was afraid of her coming in like she used to

"Alexis honey let me in."

  "Leave me alone."

   " Are you ok?"

   " No, i'm not ok I witnessed over 30 people that I know and I was friends with most die in a fire. So, no I'm not  ok."

   "Can I come in?"
 
    "Don't act like you care now leave me alone."

   She got the hint after I threw my phone at the door. I was still crying not as bad though. I glanced over at my alarm clock noticing I have to get up in about two hours. No sense sleeping now. Probably a bad idea but I get up and unlock my door after making sure my mom was back in her room. I put on my favorite pair of ripped skinny jeans and a jacket and throw my hair in a messy bun and I throw on a pair of my old Chucks. I grab some clothes and make-up for tomorrow and I grab my keys off my desk.
    I run down the stairs but quietly. I open the front door and I shut it slowly so it doesn't make a loud noise. I run over and jump in my car starting it and I pull out of the driveway. I speed down the hill and around the corner and I go towards the farmland towards Liv's house.  I drive for about twenty minutes having to stop for gas. I get there and I contemplate just turning around. Especially since I haven't talked to her since the fire. I decided to just get up and go to her door.
     I go to the door and knock a few times quietly though so I don't wake up her parents. I wait a few minutes and the front door swings open. All I see is the tired just woke up face of Liv. It takes her a few minutes to notice who I actually am but when she does she pulls me into a tight embrace and we walk inside.
