Chapter 12

After school ended me, Liv and Sarena walk out to Liv's car.

"So what was so urgent you had to show me."

"Oh yeah." I reach into my back pocket and take out my phone and send Liv and Sarena the video.
"Hey I have to go, drum line starts soon and I wanna get caught up with the music I missed and I need to talk to Emily and Natalie."

"OK, I'll text you later," Liv says taking out her phone.

"Yeah, I'll text you then too," Sarena said copying Liv's actions.

" OK I love you guy, I'll talk to you later."

"OK bye Lexi." They both say in unison.

I wave at them as they get into Liv's car and drive away. I walk toward the side of the building and into the band room. When I walk in everyone just stares at first, Like I was new. The new kid in school that everyone was weird around. I walked into the I guess you could say storage area for all the mallet equipment. I walked in and grabbed my stuff and set up for practice. As I was done setting up I went to sit by the band cubbies to edit my book on Wattpad. As I started to open the app I didn't even have time to edit anything as Emily started yelling as she ran into the room when she saw me.

      " ALEXIS YOU'RE HERE."

Putting my hand over her mouth to make her quiet "Yes Emily I'm here, no need to yell."

"Actually its queen space Jesus to you and yelling is always appropriate."

       "Only you."

" Yeah only the queen." so how have you been?"

"Good I guess," I say this slightly backing away from here.

        "What's wrong?"

        "Nothings wrong."

"We've been friends for about three years now do you really think I'm stupid enough to believe you?"

"Well, erm. . . kinda but not anymore."

"THE QUEEN IS NEVER STUPID OR WRONG."

" Yeah, yeah keep telling your self that."

We both start laughing as Natalie walks in the room with sass like always. She walks down the ramp wearing a black shirt with a blue skirt with her make-up done like she always has it. As she walks toward me and Emily, I mean Queen Space Jesus. We walk outside to the sidewalk like we always do while we wait for Andy so we can start practice. When we get out to the sidewalk we sit down and Natalie comes and sits by us. The question I was dreading was coming I just knew it.

"So do you mind me asking if you're ok?" Natalie says

"No, no she doesn't." Space Jesus says

"You don't have to answer for me."

" I know you to well, you would have said no. Or you would have said yes and lied about it and said you were OK like you do when Andy or I do."

"That is so. . ." I go to continue but I'm cut off by Emily.

      " True, I know I'm just amazing."

After about three years of being friends with her, I know not to argue too much because She'll either bring up Emily logic or she'll end up trying to get me to talk to someone. I've become accustomed to her weirdness I guess you could say. As we sit there in mindless conversation about what I've missed in the drum line and what I've missed in their daily lives. It was quite interesting. Emily complained about the stairs at the high school. How there are just so many of them. Or how she doesn't like the teachers here. She sounds like me my sophomore year.
Natalie just talked about what she usually does. Her outfit how her day was going what she did. Which to me is fine I'd rather deal with my friend's needs before my own. I guess you could say they are more important to me than my own being. As we talk we didn't realize the time. Andy had already gotten to the school and was getting ready to start when he came out to get us to come in for practice. Push comes to shove we haven't really paid any attention to anyone that has passed us as we were talking about them and the fire. Which was a touchy subject but, it was fine to talk about with them. I trusted them which was a good thing. As we walked inside to practice, it was like it used to be in the years before. Two snares, two tenors, five bass drums and the usual's for the mallets. Carly, X, Caleb, Heidi, Felicia, Chelsea, Liz, and Becca all graduated last year. But we did get some pretty good players when they left.
As we get started, practice is like it usually is. We start with announcements then we do warm-ups and then depending on what Andy has in mind we either stay in a group or go into sectionals. Today we actually went into sectionals. Me, Brendan, Emily, and Felicia go into our own sectional. We all head to the auditorium. We practice till around five like we usually would then we come back to the group and we practice for a little then we take a break. When we got into a break I go outside with Space Jesus and Natalie. We sit on the sidewalk and talk like we had before. As we're talking we notice Andy walking towards us. We continue to talk until he's actually outside. When he gets a little closer we all stop talking and look up at him.

"So how are you guys doing?" Andy asks

       "I'm good." Natalie answers

" I'M GREAT." Space Jesus yells

"You don't have yell you know," I say looking at her weirdly.

"Yeah I know but I'm outside so I get to use my OUTSIDE VOICE."

" That was wonderful my queen."

We all laugh a little at my last statement then Andy looks my way. I look away obviously because who can really stare into the eyes of another without being nervous.

"What about you how are you?"

      "I'm fine."

"Alexis doesn't lie." Space Jesus says obviously seeing through whatever face I was trying to put on. "You say you're fine for everything."

"Space Jesus is quiet, I'm not lying."

"That's not what you said earlier." Natalie and the space queen Jesus or whatever said in unison.

I look at them with that be the quiet look on my face.

"Don't give that look," Natalie says with that look on her face like she wants to hit me which actually happens quite frequently.

        "I'm fine really."

"Well if you need anything or someone to talk to I'm here," Andy says this with the look of sympathy.

         "Thank you, Andy."

He walks away without another word. As he's out of our sight I loon at Space Jesus who is glaring at me and Natalie who is just looking at me like she just really wants to hit me now.

"Why are you both looking at me like that?"

"Why didn't you talk to him?" Natalie questions.

"Yeah, why not? You need to talk to someone you trust. Do you not trust Andy?" Emily questions.

"It's not that I don't trust him, it's not that at all. I trust him I do, but you both know I have trouble speaking to authority figures."

"You still see him as an authority figure?" Natalie questions.

"I mean I guess, not as much as when I first met him but I mean it's still there."

Emily glares but only gets one phrase out before we have to go in and it's one she likes to use a lot.

"If you don't talk to him I will make you."

Two updates in a week aren't that bad. Some may not be edited yet but here's another chapter. I cant promise it was that good but here you go. you don't know how hard it was to write this chapter without laughing when I had to put space Jesus or Queen space, Jesus.
