Jay's POV
After sitting in the crowded moving house for a few hours we finally get to the first pack house on our list. The house is completely different than the one I was in just hours ago. It was a wooden cabin style place, but with a cozy home look. I know it makes no sense but it does to me! I literally jump out of the crowded moving house and flop my feet onto the ground. I hear the others footsteps as they walk out the door but I ignore them and try to make my mood less... Well, moody. It's not easy being trapped in a freakin vehicle of some sort with people you have known for just over a day!
"Ah, I see you've arrived safely. Please come in Alpha." A man who appeared to be in his early forties ushers us inside his pack house. I hesitate at first but then follow in suit as everyone else piles into the house. I sigh as I enter and look around, not many people are here which is surprising because Sabrina's pack's pack house was huge! The main room has a grand piano in the far left hand corner and there are couches all around the edges of the room leaving a clear path from the front entrance to the staircase. The floors are all hardwood and all the shoes make click, clack sounds that echo through the deserted room.
"If you don't mind me asking, where is everyone?" I ask unable to hold in my curiosity. To be fair though it was eerie quiet and the kind of freaky you'd suspect when you are about to be attacked by ninjas. Okay so I've watched a lot of TV in my life, so what? Sue me... The man leading us inside laughs and motions us to continue following him without answering my question. The strange man opens a door to the left of the staircase and walks down a staircase into a basement where a ton of chatter can be heard. Everyone in front of me stops walking and I bump into some of them.
"What's happening?" I ask loudly, trying to be heard over everyone else. A few ‘Shh’’s are directed at me and yet again no one answers me. I sigh and try to look over everyone so I can see the basement but I have no such luck.
"Quiet down please. Now there's been some talk about the Emerald pack and about how there's a curse on the pack. I have the Alpha here himself along with his son whom is frantically searching for his mate, so please welcome Alpha Luke Greyback and his son Jason." A man with a deep voice announced and clapping erupted throughout the basement. Everyone in front of me cleared out of my way and I walked down the stairs into a dark basement. A crimson red covered the walls and black furniture was splattered all over the room. People littered the furniture and floor and the Alpha of this pack was the only one standing. A small path leads us from the stairs to where the Alpha of this pack stood.
"Thank-you everyone now please quiet down." My dad’s booming voice echoed through the rather large basement. His voice always seemed to echo in any room, maybe that's his "all mighty Alpha" voice. "As many of you know my son needs to find his mate before his seventeenth birthday. We are going all over the country looking for his mate, and we're going to need everyone to help out and tell us if you have a connection with my son. We will be staying here for two days and if we have not found his mate yet..." Dad continued to speak but like always I zoned out. Next thing I know I feel someone lightly tapping my shoulder and I turn around quickly only to see my mom. She gives me a funny look.
