The Alpha's Unwanted Son- Chapter Twenty-Two

Jay's POV

Oh cr*p! I probably ruined the moment! Why did I say that? UGH! Stupid, stupid, stupid! She probably is still overwhelmed by this whole curse thing and then I go and say that! As I said before, stupid, stupid, stupid!

"Uh, forget I said anything..." I mumbled and rolled onto my side. Gee, what's with my stupidity today? Normally I can come up with better stuff to say but no, today I had to go and say idiotic stuff!

"Oh." I heard her whisper ever do softy. My heart broke. Did she want me to say I loved her? Or was this all in my head? Was she disappointed? Gosh, she deserved so much better than me!

"No I don't." Luna protested. Did I say that out loud... Oh wait never mind I forgot about her mind reading abilities.

"Yes you do. I'm some idiot with a sh*tty father and a messed up life. You in the other hand have so much potential." I bring my hand awkwardly up to scratch my back as I say this.

"First of all that's not true! Well the part about Luke is but you do have potential in life! Your going to be a father and an Alpha soon. Second of all I'm not perfect either, but that's alright because we're a perfect match because of those flaws!" Luna tells me as she leans over to kiss my cheek. Tingles spread throughout my entire face as she did so, and I couldn't help but smile.

"Good night my beautiful mate." I whisper and close my eyes.

"Uh, uh. Your not getting out of the question that easily!" Luna protests but I ignore her and flip over onto my other side so I can face her.

"What question?" I ask faking innocence. I know she wants to know what about the 'L' word but I want to wait till we discuss it more. We are just getting to know each other still!

"Whatever..." Luna mumbles plopping down onto the bed in defeat. I move closer to her and pull her to me wrapping an arm around her waist. Her body instantly relaxes and she lifts up her head so I can put my other arm under her head. This is exactly how we'd been sleeping every night since we met.

"Don't be mad." I whisper in a barely audible voice.

"I can't be." Luna sighs and I can feel her cheeks pull into a smile. "Good-night Jason."

"Good night beautiful."

It's been three days since my screw up and I've made sure to steer clear of the topic ever since. Yes it may be true, but I don't want Luna to feel like she's obligated to stay here. Luna and I have been trying to get to know each other even better but we haven't gotten very far. I keep trying to figure out ways to make Luke like Luna and for this whole mess to disappear!

"Jason, have you heard a word I've said?" Luna asks me, frustration clear in her voice. Oops, note to self don't zone out so much.

"Uh, yeah. You were saying how you um... You know your mom and you... I may have gotten lose." I stumble out. The word stupid comes to mind and I feel like slapping my forehead in frustration.

"For the second time, Casey wanted us to stop by Meadows park today and meet up with her." Luna informs me. Oh, so it wasn't to do with her mom...

"Oh yeah, um, cool. Sure we'll be there." Came my idiotic response. Luna slaps her forehead and leaves the room. So my answer didn't satisfy her? Why can't I do anything right? That same question is the one I've been asking myself a lot now-a-days.

"I'm sorry." I whisper knowing she can't hear me.

"I'm sorry." I hear Jason whisper as I storm out of the room. If that didn't break my heart right then and there I don't know what would. Jay has been... Different lightly. I can't tell what's on his mind and I don't want to peeve on his thoughts. What if he doesn't want me? I'm nothing special, just an average girl with nymph powers...
