Siren

I hear you........
             But the siren lures......
Your whispered voice like waves on sand,
                    Shhhhhh.........
She is but a shell of herself, softly sanded down,
She had been so smooth to start, so sweet,
She was the sound of care and compassion,
She was so sure she could change you,

             Shhhhhhh......
She doesn't understand you, she doesn't love you,
Silence her voice, shut out the sharp shrill,
She cries out to you.... No! Shush! Do not go to her,
She does not love you with the passion I show you,
She is not as sweet as my song,
My singing sucks at your soul,
But you do not care, for the song is all that shines,
The stars are diminished, the tides hushed and the moon silenced,
             Shhhhhhhhh........
Why do you cry so? Your body wants me,
You feel yourself surrounded by my sound.....  so softly spoken,
Your will is strong, you fight me, she is the reason!
But a sirens sailor is absorbed by the song and can never escape,
She can not save you, how could she?
She is nothing stood against my side! She is ash to my flames! She is snow to my ice! She is a small sparrow while I am the majestic swan!
She still tempts you and not my song?  Not my curves or my long lush locks?
Well then, sailor who cannot be tempted, sailor whose love is far too strong,
My currents will smash your ship and my song will wash it away,
Who to will you then pray?
She cannot save you from my riptides and my rocks!

............................

What is this? You sing your own song?
Well sing away!
You have no hope this day!
You can have your final say!
But my mission will not sway!

What is this? Your ship resists my waves?
This is not possible! You do not have the power!

What is this? Another woman sings?
She is not my sister, she is not a siren,
Yet your ship surges towards her voice and she leads you safely home,

You are in safe waters now my love, she cannot sing her song,
I brought you safely home my love, she cannot harm you here,
The siren should have known better than to tempt one whose heart belongs to a harpy,
For she may command the sea, but I command the air,
So come home to me my love and I will sooth the nightmare.
