Sparkly sequins catch the light,
Reflecting images of last night,
Yesterdays dance,
Tomorrows prance,
Life running together to form your steps,
Masks laced across faces like spider webs,
Hidden intentions covered by sequins,
Emotions beneath second skins,
The luring thrill of life's masquerade,
Can slowly start to fade,
Once caught and trapped,
By the alluring eyes and love is all sapped,
The dance does not stop,
Even as the mask falls and drops,
When the lights finally stop flashing,
And the chandeliers go crashing,
The dancers are still going.
All. Night. Long.
