You were once my butterfly,
Big, bold and bright,
You were once my colourful girl,
Not afraid to fight,We met on a hot summers day,
Played together by a cold running river,
With one glance you captivated me,
I was not to know you would start to wither,Now you are gone,
My beautiful butterfly,
Left me all alone,
Oh my butterfly why!Now I am all alone,
Left to fly by myself,
But who am I to moan?
'Cause I had the pleasure of you being my beautiful butterfly.
