I am me, myself and I,
Part of the world like the earth and sky,
But I am not as vast or as important,
I may not be a need, but a want,
For I have a place in lives,
Like a single bee in a single hive,
I am a cog in a machine,
Amongst a string of DNA, a single gene,
But I am happy and have a life,
I am a friend, daughter, sister and wife,
For I may not affect the earth and sky,
But I leave my mark, now, and when I die,
Because I was here on Planet Earth,
I had a life, death and birth,
And I touched many lives in my time,
That is worth more than a nickel or a dime,
Because my path touched many others,
So many others, my sister's and my brother's,
For humanity is a gift we all must share,
A flame to kindle, nourish and care,
That I was there, a part of you,
And now I'm part of something else here too.
