"Whatcha need, dad?" I asked as I walked into the basement. Fury and Rogers were in there. Damn. "I'll come back when you all are gone."
"Danielle. Come over here." Dad chuckled. I sighed and went to my desk.
"Agent Coulson, May, and Ward should be down here." Fury muttered. On que, Phil, Melinda, and Grant walked through the elevator.
"Why am I down here?" I asked.
"We took into consideration what you said." Phil started.
"You inherited your dad's knowledge. We need to put that to use somehow. You can become an Avenger later, but you're already smarter than ever kid your age." Fury crossed his arms.
"Okay. And?" I asked. "I'm not following where you're going with this."
"How well did Danielle do in hand-to-hand combat, Agent Ward?" Fury asked.
"She did very well with that part." Grant answered.
"I'd like to see." Fury nodded for Grant to do something. Probably fight me. I took off my heels and took a defensive stance after Grant did. He punched for my shoulder. I dodged it and kicked my foot for his abdomen. He caught my foot.
"I did not expect that." I said just before I kicked him with my other foot. I landed in a crouch position, flipping my hair out of my face. For the next three minutes, all of our moves were perfectly timed, blocked, or dodged.
"Enough." Fury looked satisfied. I put my hands on my hips and leaned against the table. "Ward? You are now Danielle's supervising officer."
"Yes sir." Grant nodded.
"What? What is that supposed to mean?" I asked as he started walking to the elevator. "People!"
"You, Ms. Danielle, are going to train to be a field agent." Fury wore a something. I wasn't sure if that was supposed to be a grin, smile, smirk, something?
"Simplify that. I know you just said I was smarter than kids my age but I'm not SHIELD smart." I crossed my arms.
"Agent Coulson will explain." Fury chuckled as the doors on the elevator shut. I turned to everyone else.
"You're training to be an agent like me and Coulson." Grant chuckled. "That's as blonde as it can be defined."
"Well. That wasn't nice." I laughed.
"Danielle?" Rogers walked to me.
"Yeah?" I sighed.
"I'm sorry for talking about you. It was uncalled for." Rogers apologized.
"It's okay." I shrugged with a very, very faint smile. "I don't normally hold grudges." He smiled and left, Melinda and Phil were behind him.
"Have fun on a plane with a few of the agents." Dad patted my shoulder before going to the elevator after Rogers and them disappeared.
"What? What are you talking about?" I asked. Dad chuckled before the doors closed. I turned to Grant. "Why the hell is no one telling me anything?! I'm fucking confused and I don't like being confused!" I stomped my foot.
"Calm down, gorgeous." Grant chuckled. "Since you rebelled against Fury, you, me, Coulson, May, Fitz, Simmons, and Skye are all going on a few missions for a few days. So go back a bag." I walked into the elevator with him.
"So I get to do what you and Phil do?" I asked.
"Yeah. Kind of." Grant nodded. I grinned. "Oh really? So you'd rather train to be a SHIELD agents, rather than to just listen to Fury and do what you know?"
"Yeah." I nodded. "Pretty much."
"You are so complicated, Danielle." He kissed my forehead.
"I like it that way." I sighed and walked to my room. I packed random clothes in a bag and sat on the edge of my bed. My two extra phones were on the vanity. Hmm. Phil gave them back. Yay. I put them and my iPod, iPad and laptop in the bag. I changed into a pair of white shorts with a teal tank top and a light, black quarter inch sleeve jacket. I added a light brown belt to the shorts and a little makeup.
"Danielle? Come on." Grant knocked on the door.
"I'm coming." I threw the bag over my shoulder and walked with him to the living room.
"Where ya going, Dani?" Austin asked. Dani?........ I kind of liked that.
"I'm just going with the agents for a few days." I shrugged. All of them were sitting around the living room.
"You're ditching us." Jeremy grunted.
"No I'm not!" I squealed. "I'll be back in a few days."
"She's ditching us for higher people." Jeremy looked at the others.
"No I'm not, Jeremy!" I stomped my foot. "Take this and go to wherever, Grant." I handed Grant my bag. He nodded and left. None of the adults were in the room, only kids.
"He's right, Danielle." Chris nodded.
"Guys." I sighed. They looked hurt. What the hell did I do?! "What did I do?"
"You haven't been the Danielle we know. You're either pissed or you're with them." Austin replied.
"I liked it when we hung out." Harland looked at his hands. I put my hand on his shoulder.
"I promise, we'll hang out once I get back. I promise. You all have my number. Text me if you want to talk. Please. I still want to be friends with you all. Just text me or skype. I'll have time. I'll find it. Bye guys." I patted Harland's shoulder before going to the car Grant was in.
"Danielle? What's wrong?" He asked as we pulled out of the Stark garage.
"I always manage to piss my friends and I everyone else off." I looked out the window and let out a sigh. He held my hand.
