"Its good to have you back, Danielle." Fury was wearing a smile? The fuck?"Its good to be back." I whispered.
"We'd just like to ask you a few questions." Hill softly smiled. She had a really sweet side, then her SHIELD assistant director side. I nodded and started tapping my thumb on my thigh. "Do you know where you were?"
"No. I was inside of a basement the whole time." I shook my head.
"Okay. Can you describe who the men were?" She asked. I stopped tapping my thumb and stopped breathing.
"I-I-I-I-I don't remember." I stuttered.
"Fury. We might need to bring someone else in for this." Hill whispered to where I almost couldn't hear her.
"Get Agent Strong here." Fury sighed and rubbed his eyes. I pulled my knees to my chest. I hated the fucking boot I was wearing on my dislocated ankle. Fury and Hill left me. I didn't like being in the tiny room alone. I was uneasy and jumpy all the time. After a few minutes of being alone, Fury and a woman walked in. The woman had pixie cut ebony hair and bright blue eyes. "Danielle? This is Agent Emily Strong. She's going to just do a little exercise." I nodded as he left me with her.
"Its good to meet you in person, Danielle. I'm Emily." She smiled. She didn't look like a SHIELD agent at all. I just nodded. My voice would occasionally not work. Ugh. I hated it. "Close your eyes and take a deep death." I hesitated before closing my eyes. "Now take a deep breath." The deep breath I took was shaky. "Now open your eyes." I was confused but did so. "Tell me what you see." I actually saw myself back in the basement.
"I-I-I-Its dark. And c-c-cold."
"Do you see any windows?"
"Yeah."
"Where?" I turned my head to the left to see a tiny window.
"To my left."
"Describe the whole room for me."
"Its dark. And freezing."
"Where are you at in the room?"
"On-on the floor." The door opened.
"What happened?" I must've done something to show Emily I was scared.
"The door. It- It opened." Four men walked in but I couldn't make out their faces. The one with shoulder length ebony hair was watching me. Something striked the back of my leg.
"That's enough!" I heard dad yell. "Danielle! Sweetie. Come on." He shook my shoulders. My vision focused and I saw him. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah. I was perfectly fine. Why?" I asked.
"You screamed." He looked confused.
"Oh." I looked at my hands. I was breathing heavily again and struggled to catch my breath. "Can we go home?"
"Of course. Come on." He helped me walk to the car. I laid across the back seat. Images of the ebony male stuck in my mind. He looked so familiar.
"You okay, baby?" Mom asked, rubbing my hand.
"Yeah." I put my hands above my head to try to catch my breath. I felt claustrophobic and struggled to breath. I sat up and closed my eyes, putting my head back. When we made it to the Tower, I went straight to my room. "JARVIS?"
"Yes ma'am?"
"Is anyone in the shop?" I asked.
"No ma'am. May I ask why?"
"Never mind." I felt my head spin. My vision blurred. "JARVIS. Get Jemma or Bruce here." I felt my knees give away as I fell to the ground.
"Danielle!" Grant helped me stand up.
"Just lay me in the bed." I shook my head.
"What happened?" He asked.
"Danielle? What's wrong?" Jemma asked as she walked in. I couldn't see of talk straight. "What happened, Ward?"
"She was on the floor when in came in." He shrugged.
"I'm okay." I rasped. "Can you get Cap?"
"Go to sleep first." He kissed my forehead. I groaned and laid down in the bed.
