"Danielle? Fury wants to talk to you." Mom knocked on my bedroom door. Austin, Jeremy, Harland, and Chris were all sitting around my room as we talked and laughed. "Do you want to talk to him?"
"Preferably not." I sighed. Mom opened the door, then motioned for the guys to leave. They either hugged me or kissed my forehead before leaving. Mom walked in with Grant.
"Danielle?" Fury was standing in the doorway of my room. I turned around in my computer chair with my back to him. "Listen. I apologize for everything I said that upset you."
"Its fine, Fury." I shrugged. My eyes stayed locked on Grant's as he stood across the room, leaning against my wall.
"Okay. Well. Do you remember having any man you didn't know in the cell with you?" Fury asked.
"Yeah. All the men who beat me up were complete strangers unless they were Hammer or Quinn." I muttered, looking to the floor.
"Have you ever heard of Agent John Garrett?" Fury asked.
"I think you've talked about him once or twice." I looked to Grant. He nodded, keeping his jaw locked. I then turned to Fury. "Why?"
"He was one of the ones there." Fury replied quietly.
"He was a SHIELD agent though." I whispered after a while of silence.
"Was. Not anymore. He's in the base in DC, waiting to be questioned my Romanoff." Fury started to leave.
"Wait! Fury. I want to go see him." I stood up.
"Mrs. Potts?" Fury looked to mom.
"Oh, Danielle. I don't think that's a good idea." She shook her head.
"Mom! I've been good for a while."
"Fine." She sighed. "Agent Ward? Will you go with her?"
"Of course." Grant nodded and picked up my to-go bag before we left.

"Who is Garret?" I asked Grant as we walked through the halls of the SHIELD facility alone.
"Uh. He was my S.O.." That made me stop.
"Did you know about what he was doing to me?" I asked.
"No, Danielle. Not at all." He shook his head. "I'd never let anyone do that to you." I nodded as we continued on walking. I was surprised how quiet he was being. I mean, Grant doesn't talk a lot anyways, but he wasn't this quiet. When we got into the first room that them led to the interrogation room, Fury, Phil, dad, and Natasha were waiting.
"Hey, guys." I smiled brightly.
"Hey." Phil smiled too.
"Are you ready, Danielle?" Fury asked. I looked through the two way glass. The man on the other side did look surprisingly familiar. Oh my god. He was one of the ones there.
"Danielle?" Grant put his hand on my shoulder. I jumped, looking back to him. "You don't have to do this."
"No. I want to." I shook my head. Dad patted me before I walked into the room alone. I stayed standing with my arms crossed. Garret looked up to me.
"Its great to see a friendly face." He smirked. I didn't comment, though I was feeling like saying a few things. "Quiet again? Yeah. That happens when you have traumas with someone you're afraid of-"
"I'm not afraid of you." My voice worked on its own.
"Oh really? I do remember you were begging me to kill you-"
"Stop." I closed my eyes, feeling the amount of agonizing pain that he had inflicted on me.
"That's fear right there. And fear's a weakness-"
"A weakness is attacking a defenseless girl, Garret." I opened my eyes and let my hands fall to my sides in fists. "Ya know. Ward used to always talk about how good of a man you were. But now, I realized he didn't even know who you were, his own S.O."
"Right, right. Says the one who didn't even know her boyfriend knew what was going on in that cell." That stopped me.
THIRD PERSON
"Yeah. Agent Grant Ward knew everything I was doing to you, everything Ian Quinn was doing to you. He knew your exact locations. But did he bother to tell anyone? Or did he keep it a secret, letting you endure the pain? He even got a video of it from someone. You were lying on the ground in a pool of blood. Cuts all over, clothes torn. Crying your eyes out, begging that someone would either kill you or save you. I remember one of those moments you were crying 'daddy, daddy'. But did your daddy come?" When Garret said that, the billionaire in the next room over felt something break inside. His baby girl was crying his name while she was being tortured. And he couldn't do anything about it. "Oh. Here's a good one. You were so beat up one of those time, you started screaming for your precious Grant Ward. Begging him to come and save you from the living hell." Danielle remembered that part of the torture. She had screamed out his name. Ward couldn't believe what Garret was saying. Danielle's eyes were tearing up but she pushed them back.
DANIELLE'S POV
"You're lying." I whispered, holding the necklace around my neck in my hand.
"No. I'm not. Go ask Ward. See if he lies or if he tells the truth." Garret motioned for me to leave. For some reason. I believed him. But I shouldn't've. I walked out of the interrogation room and looked up at Grant, who looked like he was hiding something now.
"Grant? What is he talking about?" I whispered.
"Danielle....." Grant sighed.
"Can we have a few?" I asked the audience of Fury, Phil, Natasha, and dad. They nodded and left. "Tell me the damned truth, Grant. Did you, or did you not, know what Garret was doing to me?" I asked calmly.
"Danielle. Just let me explain-"
"Oh my god!" My voice cracked as I took a step back. "You knew about it!" My voice was trembling, tears already streaming my cheeks as I stepped back and hit the wall. My hands went to my mouth. "You knew."
Hey..... If you think you know what's about to happen...... You're wrong...... MMMWWWWWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
Okay. That was weird.
