DANIELLE'S POV

It's been three days since I was saved. I was currently still in my room. I was better, but still didn't really talk, eat, sleep, or leave the room. Every time I tried to sleep, nightmares would follow. I hadn't seen anyone but mom, dad, Grant, Jemma, Fitz, and Bruce in the days I had been home. I was currently in jogging shorts with a hoodie on, sitting at my desk, scrolling through Facebook on my computer. Tons of people heard about it. Even more were sending me little messages through Instagram, twitter, and Facebook, saying how they hope I feel better and all. My windows were shut. The room would've been dark if it wasn't for the light of my computer. I had become very emotional since then too. There was a soft knock on the door.

"Come in." And I haven't been able to recover my voice. I could whisper or talk quietly, but not normal. Austin, Jeremy, Harland, and Chris walked in. Mom and dad stood at the door as the guys walked over to me.

"You look better, Dani." Jeremy smiled, trying to stay positive for me, probably.

"Thanks." I nodded. "Come here." I whispered, motioning for them to come to me as I bit my lip. One by one, they all hugged me. I took my time, hugging them all deeply. I started with Austin, then. Jeremy, Harland, and then Chris. I started to cry. Fuck my emotions.

"Don't cry, Danielle." Harland shook his head.

"What's bothering you?" Austin asked.

"Truth is.... I never thought I was going to make it back to see your guys' gorgeous faces." That made me softly smile. "I thought I was doing to die with you guys pissed at me."

"Oh, Danielle." Jeremy chuckled.

"Honey. We could never stay mad at you." Chris rubbed my good shoulder.

"Thank you guys. So much. I love you." I hugged all of them again and kissed their cheeks. By the time I was done, all I their cheeks were flushed before they left. Mom and dad walked further into the room. "I love you." I hugged mom and dad again. I was in a loving mood.

"Does anything hurt, sweetie?" Mom asked.

"Well. Not really. Everything's still a little sore." I replied.

"Good. I'll let you two talk." Mom kissed my forehead before leaving me with dad.

"Hey dad." I waved my fingers.

"Listen. Danielle. The same thing happened to me, except I didn't get beaten as bad." Dad muttered then took a deep breath. "If you ever need anyone to talk to, there's always me, mom, Happy, and Rhodey. They all helped me when I came back from the Middle East."

"Okay." I faintly smiled.

"Do you think you feel good enough to answer a few questions?" He hesitated before asking. I moved, uncomfortably in my seat. "You don't have to, Danielle."

"No. It's okay. I can do it." I shook my head.

"Okay, honey. Get ready to go to the base." Dad hugged me before leaving. I pulled my good leg to my chest and leaned back in the chair, lightly twirling the chair from side to side.

"Dani?" Grant knocked on the door.

"Yeah." I wiped the stray tear from my cheek before he came in. "I need to get ready to leave." I stood up with his help.

"Where to?" He asked.

"To the base." I made my way around the room. I put on sweatpants and a neon green jacket with a hot pink tank top underneath. I put my hair in a messy bun, letting a few strands fall around my face. I put on a little eyeliner and mascara. I was sitting on the bathroom counter in my room. I caught my own reflection in the mirror. I was no longer the pretty, gorgeous Danielle Stark. There was a gash on my cheek and a bunch of tiny, but painful cuts all over my face. I started to cry again. Grant put his arms gently around me. "I'm never going to look the same, Grant." I cried in his chest.

"Yes you will, Danielle. You're still beautiful and amazing." He kissed my forehead. I sniffled and walked behind him. My left shoulder hit the doorframe. I gasped and winced. "Be careful, Danielle." Grant helped me walk to the living room and to the car mom and dad were in. We drove in silence to the base. I was silently crying to myself. As we parked the car, mom turned to me.

"Honey. You don't have to do this." She held my hand.

"I'm fine." I shook my head and walked into the base. When I would pass the agents, they'd smile and nod once or shake my good hand. I walked into the interrogation room, which I thought was stupid. I knew everyone else was on the other side of the two way glass. Fury came in and sat down across from me with Agent Maria Hill beside him.
